Saab 9-5 DTC p0101

Last winter I got DTC P0101 with Check the engine light. No problems for driving and no visual problems so the trouble code and light was erased. It came back after few days. It was erased again, because no air leaks was found and car was running ok (Saab workshop). After driving 30 km same problem accured. I bougth new original MAF and changed it (myself). Problem was solveld. Yes! Now suddenly, after one year and about 25 000 km Check the engine light and same DTC: P0101. I dismount the new MAF and cleaned it with specific CRC-aerosol. It looked already quite clean and ok, but I still cleaned it. Mount it back and erased the DTC. Three days ok and then about 180 km later same promblem. Erased it and 30 km ok, then DTC. Now I became to be a little bit of pissed off. Do you have any idea, what might cause this problem and DTC? Is there some possible air leak which can cause this problem? Car does not go to the Limp home mode, so as far as I understand the MAF can't be totally dead. On the other hand MAF is only 1 year old.

The belt tensioner is defective. It automatically keeps the belt at the proper tension. P0101 - MAF sensor (mass air flow sensor) or circuit problem. P0107 - MAP sensor (manifold absolute pressure sensor) signal is low.

Basically the P0101 diagnostic trouble code (DTC) means that there is a problem with the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor or circuit.

P0170 means there is a malfunction in the computer's control of the air:fuel ratio.

I have a 1997c1500 check engine light is on i put a computer on it the code is po101 can anyone tell me what i need to do to fix the problem so i can pass the e check


Basically this P0101 diagnostic trouble code (DTC) means that there is a problem with the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor or circuit.The malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) will illuminate. the simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back.

The simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back. Any loss of vacuum to the MAP sensor can cause this DTC to set. A number of problems can cause this code, for example, a bad mass air flow sensor, a vacuum leak, a leak in the air duct between the air flow sensor and the engine, a sensor wiring problem, etc. Even a plugged catalytic converter can cause this code. good-day !

Hi there have a 2004 avalanche 5.3 litre and check engine light came on bought code reader and found trouble codes p0101 and p0401 i have changed out the mass air flow unit to fix code p0101 however do...


this code is a generic code and doesnt exist on this year. you will need to use a better scan tool to get the correct code, it may or may not be a egr code,

with the p0101 make sure you have a clean air filter. it can be bad spark plugs and or wires, or a leak in the air intake system
