Question about 2001 Hyundai Elantra
Car stalls esp when low revs in 1st. Front scrapes the ground on slight slopes. Whirring noise, from r/hand side of car, it resembles a frayed fan belt; becomes obvious at cruising speed
I disposed of the vehicle. Thanks.

Sounds like a bearing packing up. Could be a siezing alternator, which would put enough of a strain on the engine to make it cut out. Does the pitch of the noise increase with speed?
