So many prizms, bad. it like a bad penny.
it ralley a gm messed over toyota.

all these facts are at alldata dot com.
log in , and behold, a whole new world !

door locks can fail only these ways.
1: bad fuse.
2: bad wiring /connector
3: bad switch
4: bad solenoid. (or its linkage jammed up.)

all it takes is a volt meter.
if you get full 12v to the solenoid, the solenoid is bad.
my last one was that, 04 tracker,
got 12v there on demand.
and the linkages are ok.
the solenoid was weak inside, $140 for new one.
my new jeep has none of this funky junk, keys and cranks.
forever.

you'll have to pull off the interior panel. window in the up position. on the lock cylinder there is a clip that you have to pull off and an arm that actuates the lock. pop the lock out. reverse to install.

SOURCE: 1997 Geo Metro rear door won't open!

I have the same car, same problem. I've still not been able to fix it, despite taking the inside panels off the rear doors, checking the rods were seated, applying WD-40 to the lock mechanisms, and manually working the mechanism. Child locks are not engaged, but I tried putting them on and off too. Just won't open.

The doorlock has the ability not to unlock all the way after being locked. Take the door panel loose and you can access the locking mechanism. Push the mechanism all the way forward. This should solve the problem

Passenger door can be opened from inside but not from outside...how too fix???

Remove the door lining and look inside by the lock. There is a linkage that has come adrift. To remove the door lining, remove handles, escutcheons, and arm rests. Using a wide blade screw driver gently pop the plastic rivets that hold the lining to the door.

Strange . On drivers power windows / mirror console power mirrors stopped working. When I hit power lock all lock except front passenger door. Someone told me to see if cigar lighter works as on same fuse....

Might be the door lock actuator on the door has failed, or power wire broke, you. Need to check for power at the actuator, and if has power and doesn't function the actuator is dead

Automatic passenger door lock

You should replace power door lock at front passenger side, you can use any 'universal' power door lock. its an unit with a small motor inside that have a mechanism to up and down according electricity from the actuator (master door lock at driver side)
Hope this help :-)

All power door locks lock except the driver side front door

On my jetta, if you don't lock the doors with the remote then all doors lock except the drivers door. try this
1. closing all doors walk around to the passenger door.
2.open the door, using the button on the passenger door, lock the doors.

I had this happen to me on my jetta and found you could lock all the doors if you did'nt use the drivers door or you locked using the remote. They did this to keep the driver from locking the keys in the car. I hope this worked for you

Front passenger door lock won't lock/unlock

You need to replace the electric door lock solenoid. The electrical part of the solenoid may be compromised and is not letting the solenoid arm retract or extend to lock/unlock your door.
