I have a 97 Ford Taurus I put Marvel oil in it you have been driving for 30 minutes now it runs real real bad lost power overheating and smoking

Umm...

Overheating is either a sign of a thermostat/radiator fault, a coolant leak or a leaking cylinder head gasket.

Smoking is either due to overfilling with oil, worn valve seals or worn piston rings/worn engine.

If the trouble started when you topped up with oil, drain the oil system and try a different oil.

How do i fix leaking water at thermostat housing?

If your thermostat housing is pitted and corroded it might be time to purchase a replacement housing. If your hose clamp is worn out, it might be time for a replacement. If the bolt holes are worn out, it might be time for new bolts and heli-coils in the intake. If none of these are the problem....I would think that a thorough cleaning of all surfaces and a thin bead of silicone on each side of a clean dry gasket would work.

I have a 2001 eclipse 3.0. my bf changed the thermostat last oct or so.he also just changed the valve cover gasket for me bc mine was leaking. now it wants to run hot. i have checked the fluids and its...

There are several possible causes for it running hot.
  1. Loose drive belt - loose or worn drive belt would slip and cause the water pump to turn slower than it should
  2. Bad bearing in water pump - accompanied by occasional screeching and possible leaking
  3. Bad thermostat - this could be the case if you've used a radiator sealant that could cause the thermostat to stick
  4. Possible bad head gasket - this would produce white smoke from the tailpipe and bubbling of the auto transmission fluid

2004 Ford Explorer V6 engine over heating i replaced gasket, thermostat, top housing unit and the o-ring now it is leaking from behind the base where the thermostat housing is bolted down to just behind...

There is a gasket on the base of the housing, the housing you speak off has the sensor and a heater hose and bolts to top of the intake and also hold the thermostant, this housing does contain a rubber molded gaske, i have replaced a few of these, heres the problem i have run into a couple where the plastic was eaten away in the area that holds the gasket in place. if you remove it you will see a groove that the gasket sits inside of, if the groove is broken then replace the housing but if its good then all you need is the gasket, you will need to ask for thermostat housing gasket to engine intake, this gets confusing to a parts person as they may think you are asking for the thermostat gasket, also in the rear bottom of the housing theres a hose connected to the housing make sure thats not your leak, the hose may also be leaking. good day

My van still shows sign off over heating according to my thermostat but recently replaced water pump and radiator

the 4.3 engine has a problem with leaking intake manifold gaskets. check for leakage behind the water pump. did you change the thermostat? This controls the engine temp. check for rusty radiator cap and replace if worn

Put in new waterpump and new thermostat gauge is above normal why

either you have put in a higher rated thermostat ,or when the water pump failed you damaged the head gasket or distorted the head
