SOURCE: 2010 Vibe Type & Quanity of Eng Oil

The 5-30W gives the oil a better heat range, so when you go to Florida, the engine oil keeps it's viscosity better.
The 5-W20 has a lower heat range and is great in the upper states and canada where the temperature is not as hot as Florida or Texas.
The 0-W20 is even better if your in the colder climate like Alaska so the oil is not that thick, and when you have the start the engine first thing in the morning, the oil can move quicker to the upper part of the engine.
Best thing is no matter what oil you use, just as long as you follow the recommended oil change duration. Your going to be fine and have a long lasting engine and also make sure you warm up the engine first before running it hard to have the piston and cylinder walls expand the same time. As you run the engine hard when it's cold, the pistons expand quicker then the cylinder walls and after a few years. The pistons and cylinder walls will have to much play and you get piston slaps till the engine warms up.
Good luck and hope this helps and the 5-W30 is more forgiving if you go over a few miles between oil changes.

SOURCE: How to change transmission oil and finding the dip

There is no dipstick the fluid level is checked by warming the trans fluid up to a certain temp. and removing the overflow plug on bottom of pan. Fluid is filled through fill plug on side of trans.

1990 Corolla transmission oil change

Listen, if your fluid is nice and pink and the car is running fine, leave it alone and don't change the fluid. Doing so very often affects the seals due to the presence of a new fluid and leads to leaks, slippage, transmission job!
You have been warned. Good luck

Can engine oil leak into transmission on toyota corolla 1989

Sounds like you need to get your transmission serviced as the darkened color is a sign of deteroration. As for oil to somehow make it into the transmission you would need one serious oil leak and the grommet around the tranmission dipstick would have to be pretty much gone for oil to somehow make it into the housing. Needless to say I've never seen it happen.

Hi I have a 2004 toyota corolla with the P0741 code coming up is it the TCC?

That the right code for it. How are you for fluid level? If low top it up via the transmission dip stick tube. When you lift the dip stick out check the fluid and smell. It should be pink with no burnt smell. If its cooked its not a great sign
