This is easy. Lift the lid open. Look at the back of the sealed beam and you will see a clip and an o ring. Pull the clip up and pull wires back toward the driver's seat. Unscrew the o ring and firmly pull the bulb out toward the driver again. Note the 3 tabs on the bulb seat and realign the new bulb with those tab ( 2 bottom, 1 top). Replace with #9007 bulbs..do them both.

According to the Haynes manual it is under the intake manifold, Upper and lower intake manifolds must be removed for access. If you go to Auto Zone, they have the sensor and can give you the step by step instructions to replacing the knock sensor with common tools. Good luck and hope this help.

could be as simple as a plugged heater core? how does you antifreeze look? how are the hoses going to the firewall? they look okay? also, could be as simple as the mechanical lever connecting to the coolant line coming loose and not allowing the hot coolant to pass? you may have to take apart some of you dash to try and see this.
