Either your exhaust manifold rusted or something hit it and caused the leak. You should get it fixed the gas odors can be dangerous.

SOURCE: 96' toyota corolla Exhaust Manifold Keeps Cracking

Sounds weird that this problem keep occurring over and over. Does it crack in the same spot every time?

Only two things I can think of that would cause this problem.
1. Extensive over heating, I've seen a exhaust manifold get glowing red hot because of a bad oxygen sensor.

2. Excessive Vibration. The whole exhaust line to the back of the car is moving around too much or too stiff. The exhaust line needs to move around enough to take the movement/vibration of the engine. I would check out for bad motor mounts and worn out exhaust pipe mounts.

96 Toyota Camry has an exhaust smell car sounds like a lawn mower when running what could the problem be

Several things.
Cracked exhaust manifold, leaking connector at the pipe, damaged exhaust pipe, and so on.
A mechanic should be able to find the leak.

My 2002 V6 Camry has abnormal sound when press gas pedal, do I need replace the timing belt?

No you have either blown a head gasket or your exhaust manifold/pipe has developed a crack or leak. While the car is in park or neutral with the handbrake on you should be able to locate the source of the noise.

v-6 has two O2 sensors, one located in the exhaust manifold and the other near the catalytic converter

How do i test egr system on 93 toyota camry

Testing steps:

  • Remove the vacuum hose on the top of the EGR valve and plug it.
  • Connect a short hose to the EGR valve.
  • Start the car.
  • Now **** on the hose, or use an appropriate tool to apply suction to the line
  • this will open the EGR valve the engine should stumble and try to die.
If it does the EGR valve is working.
There is an "Exhaust gas manifold pressure sensor" that measures the exhaust gas flow to the EGR valve. The problem is the sensor itself becomes clogged with exhaust carbon and gives the computer a fixed false reading, the computer in turn sends too much vacuum to the EGR valve and the engine runs rough, surges and may die.

91 Camry - Engine starts to accelerate and then almost dies, or does die.

May have an exhaust gas restriction.  The catalytic converter often produces your symptom when it clogs.  Verify by loosening the front exhaust pipe where it connects to the engine exhaust manifold slightly, (about 1/8th in.) and then drive car to see if it will now accelerate.

I OWN A 1990 TOYOTA CAMRY V6. MY QUESTION IS: WHY

If you are loosing coolant, but you have no leak, then there are not but 2 ways that can happen. #1 your coolant is getting into your oil. Check by taking off the oil fill cap, examine the color of the residue on the cap and inside the engine. If your oil has water in it, it will take on a milky appearance. You can also pull your dipstick and verify your findings on the end of the dipstick. #2. You can be loosing water in your exhaust. You may notice a vapor coming from your exhaust pipe, water may be dripping from its termination, and you should be able to hold your hand 3 or 4 inches from the exhaust and your hand will get water droplets forming on it. Both of these conditions can be caused by either a blown head gasket, or a crack in the head itself. Hope this helps! Good Luck.
