Chk to see if both cooling fans come on when temp gets high, chk fluid level, check for cracks in antifreeze reservoir. look for leaks under car ,
like under water pump. throw in a new thermostat for good measure.

2007 pontiac g6 leaking fluid on drivers side

You may have an air pocket in your coolant system and it pushing fluid out, check your coolant fluid level when cold and fill to proper level then run the car for 20 min turning the heat on inside the car to allow fluid to go through the heater core, always watch temperature if it gets too hot during procedure stop and let it cool then top off fluids again and repeat till fluid level is full and air is out.

1999 Pontiac grand am se put in new thermostrat and new overflow bowl car is still running hot and in the overflow bowl it comes out pink milky what is the problem and where is the drain plug on the rad

It sounds like you might be getting transmission fluid in the cooling system. This happens when the internal transmission cooler develops a leak. You may have to replace the radiator.

Car running hot after changing water pump

A couple of things that are problems on Alero's are the waterpump, thermostat and the overflow tank.

The thermostat can be stuck closed, so the engine isn't cooling. The overflow tank can crack on the bottom of it, leaking fluid out....BUT, you would notice this if you checked your driveway or your fluid is low. Are the fans cycling on and off like they're supposed to? If it's none of these, I'd look at possibly a new radiator.

Antifreeze overflow from tank

I would check for visible cracks and leaking at the overflow tank when the engine is cold, then when the engine is running and at operating temperature and not running and at operating temperature as well as during cool down. Also check the coolant overflow hose for leaks or obstructions inside the hose or if the hose is kinked. Check to make sure that the overflow tank cap is damage free and securely fastened.

Water leak overflow hose......

The hose you are referring to is the drain from the heater box...gets rid of condensation from the a.c. don't connect it to anything. But, If any antifreeze (not plain water) is coming out of there, then you likely have a heater core leak. That said, if the engine is not running hot and you aren't loosing antifreeze, the level sensor in the tank is bad.

2004 impala coolant level

The coolant container (called the overflow reservoir) will be marked as to what constitutes MIN and MAX levels that should be in it. If it's low, add coolant.

As for what temperature it should run at, the gauge on the dash is just a general indication, but usually it runs close to the middle of the gauge's range.
