My suede birkenstocks squeek badly!

They have a buckle across the top of the leather. I've worn them for a good while now and they squeek badly. What can be done?

How do I remove front seat warning screen?

Are you trying to get it to turn off? If so, the actual lap belt connection is a switch that closes when you push in the buckle. You can test the switch by placing a butterknife into the buckle to depress the switch, if it turns off the overhead lap buckle might be worn or the actual harness is worn out. Hope I made some sense. You can buy good used lap safety switches from crashed cars at junkyards, make sure you take your old switch and a picture of the buckle for a proper mate.

Why does the seatbelt alarm not work

Hi Brian
Is it stuck ON or OFF?
Is it the same for all belts?
A switch is either a physical one on each belt buckle or a continuity formed between the clasp & the buckle.

Could be a fuse
Either way....
A 12 volt test bulb would be useful here
A quick test across each fuse with ignition turned on.

Good Luck

How will I know when to replace the rear drum shoes? How thin should the shoes be, in order for me to change it?

Your shoes and pads have a tab on them that will begin to squeek previous to the brakes going bad. If you've already heard that squeek and now it's gone, that means the tab has worn off and it's really time for service. I don't know the measurements, but a good service shop will tell you which ones are bad.

Squeek in front brakes and thunk in back when weather is cold or rainy, quits after a block and doesnt occur during good weather. Been serviced for winter.

Been serviced for the winter, just no brake
work done in a year or more

You need a different shop or do your own work

I find it troubling that I have never in 49 years, ever had
one brake issue,I'm starting to think I may be gifted

The problem is the pros just don't use the knowledge they
have or care to resolve brake issues.

None of your squeeking or weather related things should
ever be there.

You can't go to a franchise place in the mall & expect good
results & brake service done in an hour. That isn't how it has
to be done & the quality of parts is part of your problem & all
the rust that never is removed or anything seeing any sort of lube

The belt keeps making a squeeking noise it sounds like the belt drive.. what can i do to stop that noise??

Check to make sure the belt is not loose. While you're checking the belt make sure that the belt is in good shape. Replace the belt if it has nicks or cracks.
The belt may be glazed (belt develops a hard glaze from age, dirt/oil hardening) and slipping. Try spraying 'belt dressing' on the belt. 'Belt Dressing' can be found at your local auto parts store. Ask the counterperson for it.
There could be another reason for the squeeking. One of the pulleys may have bearings going out and the unit may have to be replaced.
Let me know if you have any more questions or problems. Thanks.

S500 Mercedes Leather Arm Rest Worn

You may try an upholstery shop, one that deals in auto restoration, convertible tops , etc. Auto parts stores are a good resource for info. Those guys behind the counter know a lot, and may be able to lead you in the right direction. You may be able to save a few hundred bucks, maybe more.
