Question about 2006 Isuzu Ascender
I replaced the fuel pump two years ago and now the float isn't gauging the amount of gas in the tank. Is there a relay or sensor that may be causing the problem? The fuel pump is working fine but the float is integrated in the pump. Any solutions to the problem without replacing the pump again?

Usually if the gas gage does not work yes it is true it may be the sensor if it is electronicly controlled. the sncor will more than likley be in the tank. here is how to remove your gas tank.

the float in your gas tank seems to have water in it....water is heavier than gas, that's why gas floats on top of water....try putting something like HEAT in it to dry up the water in your tank....

Some of these GM's have a seperate fuel guage relay under the dash. Their not cheap. Since you could have anything from a bad sender in the tank to a bad relay its best to leave this to a professional. Next time this happens try smacking the fuel tank a few times hard. If the gauge goes up its most likely a sender in the tank issue. If nothing happens then it really needs to be diagnosed correctly.
