A tune up will not cure the lean code, in fact an engine miss gives a rich code from the unburned fuel. I would suggest u verify u have no vacuum leaks, also clean the inside of the MAF sensor if so equipped and replaced the bank two O2 sensor, that is the passenger side sensor before the catalytic converter. If u have the money replace both right and left sensors, it is better to do them in pairs.

Hi! You must be frustrated by now! your code is marking that the O2 sensor is bad in bank 1. Did you replace the O2 sensor that is located  before the catalytic converter?  The S10 has an O2 sensor specially made for that cat. its about 30$ That would explain for your blackened spark plugs; your pc on the car is asking for more fuel. GOOD LUCK!!

P1763 and p0303 codes for my 02 jeep grand cherokee. car is super sluggish and shakes when gets to 50mph.

no engine stated.??????????
303 is gross misfire on #3 cylinder. on all cars.
its a for sure thing, means bad combustion on #3 and its power is weak. 1763 is tranny The 7 means that. and is problem2.

ever get a 60k miles tunup this decade?
sparks plugs, spark wires, filters, air and fuel>?
spark plugs dont last life of any engine.
THE CEL blinking (oper guide tells) means that misfire
is burning the CAT converter to a crisp. (raw fuel + air does that)
the opr. guide says get it serviced, fast, dont drive fast or tow anything. all great advice in the glove box.

get a cheap tuneup, and magic can happen in most cases.
misfire has many causes. over 20.
but a tuneup not done, is 99% cause. (due to nobody doing them)
only fate , determines truth, not statistics....
for example you sucked a valve on #3..

if the new spark parts dont fix #3 a compression tests is next.
or an injector balance test say from #3 to one other injector.
all this is like 1hr work, but no engine stated, so.....

Car wont star up makes rumbling sound and wont start

Could be one of several things. Check your spark plugs and distributor/rotor first off. If the distributor cap has lines inside it, or gray deposits on the inside terminals replace both it and the rotor. I highly recommend NGK Iridium spark plugs... put them in and forget about spark plug issues for 60K miles! Be careful when removing the distributor cap to unplug one wire at a time and place each wire in the proper place on the new cap each time, so you don't get them mixed up. Check your air filter and vacuum the dirt that sits underneath the filter to help it last longer. Changing air filters once a year is recommended to make sure your engine can breathe properly. Look at your vacuum line diagram under the hood and trace every connection making sure there are no unplugged lines or holes,

What is wrong with my 1996 geo tracker ,it will not start in damp or rain days

but skipped spark plugs. (air and fuel filter ) finish the 60k mile tuneup?????
and are the tips, white, black, oil soaked, green , gas soaked?
shoe drops. but runs perfect other wise

if the 16v engine, says that on top, of valve cover
it has wells spark wells are they full of oil, that is the 60k tuneup
step that calls out valve lash checks and new gasket there.'
if they fill with water or oil , that will make starting hard.
there are 50 more ways, we dont guess, the tests and tools are easy and cheap.
got tools?

hard starts, ? basics.
  • low battery (for 3 reasons) = low spark energy.
  • low compression, skipping the 60k means the cam belt slipped.
  • bad spark , not doing a full 60k tuneup.
  • bad fueling. (too little or too much) "complex set of tests but scan it first"
  • EGR sticking open. clean it.
  • melted cat. (not your's, as it runs perfect otherwise)
  • lots more, i stop.

here is the 60k line up

Dose not ideal smooth & lacks power

ever do the 60k mile tune up? if not why not.
the are parts that fail soon after 60k miles.
timing belt, its a toyota engine, 3 types, used.
spark plugs and wires set.
also known as the 60k mile service point.
if all that is good.
its one of 3 things, bad compression, bad spark bad fueling.
there are tests for each.
you can buy tools to do tests.
or guess.
only 2 ways, DIY, or take it to any ASE mech and its fixed.

What do you all need for a tune up

You need spark plugs, and wires(or boots) and fuel filter, and air filter, and a pcv valve wouldn`t hurt either.

Hi, I have a 2006 Altima with 31,500 miles. Recently, the engine start shaking when car is Idle but I still feel the shake when driving or at red lights. My second problem is a weird loud (humming) noise...

You don't need to change the spark plugs since it has only 31.5 K. The plugs should last 60K. There is a an adjustment at the gas cable end at engine to increase the idle a little bit. You can increase rpm at idle to 600 RPM. Since your RPM at idle is low that why it is shaking at idle, red lights. Let me know it it is shaking at high speed ( 2500 RPM)

How often should I service my Volkswagen Cabriolet 1997

Change oil every 3000 miles. Use 5w-30 weight.I would use syntetic oil base. I found on mine it runs quiter and smoother, better for the car also in the long run Buy it at a local auto part not go crazy on the brands if you will change oil every 3k miles. If you want to go longer get the Mobil-1 syntetic for the 15k miles..but do it will save tons. Every 12k miles change the air filter, very easy. Undo the clips , there are four of them and pull out the old and place the new one..five minutes operation ( $12.00) you can do the oil yourself also..10 minutes ( $13 ) . Spark plugs and rotor and distributor cap change every 30k miles, along with the fuel filter. Every 60k , I would change the spark plug wires ( 85 dollars) seems expensive , but you will definetly see a big difference in starting up the car, idle speed and performance as a whole....worth every penny.Timing belt change every 60k not take a chance on this could be expensive if it breaks...not expensive (30 dollar part) and relatively easy..but have a mechanic or someone you trust. While you are there change the other belt, power steering and alternator belt( i think ) .You do this the car will drive for 200k miles without any problems
