Question about 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
In my son's 2005 Jeep Cherokee Laredo, the Check Engine Light is staying on. He was involved in a minor accident in which he was rear ended. A mechanic has taken the new bumper off twice, stating that the light is on due to the accident ( A sensor compartment is directly in front of the bumper where he was hit?) After first visit to the mechanic the light was still coming on. Taken to the mechanic a second time where a Valve Sensor Cap was replaced. The light comes on now and stays on again. What could possibly be wrong? I have been told that the problem was corrected after the first two trips to the mechanic.
I agree with timmyb187. The dealership will test for codes and see exactly what sensor might be putting that light on. Under the bumper are sensors for the airbag. There could be a harness that got cut because of the accident.
