I suspect thet the float level in the carby is too low and there is insufficent fuel for the main metering jet.

SOURCE: Car shudders on acceleration

I'd check the motor mounts. Shuddering upon acceleration indicates movement of the engine inside the compartment. Best of luck.

SOURCE: my 2000 dodge durango hesitates sometimes when

I understand from the question that your car is manual? if that's being the case, I would suggest checking the clutch because if its worn out then that's why you are not getting enough force on the differential. replace the clutch if it has never been replaced is my first consideration.

A mechanic guy will tell you if the clutch is good or bad by simply testing the clutch. Let him also tell you what are the things that you need to replace in order to fix the problem. Diagnostics are free most of the times just tell them that you want to know what the problem is.

Hope that helps. let me know.

Check the condition of the plugs you have installed. See if you can find one which has an irregular color. The spark plug should be dry and brown in color. The problem could be just in one or a few cylinders. More than one cylinder may mean a problem with the ignition coil. If it were just one we can isolate it into the components connected to the cylinder.

If you have the SES light on as well, it may be a bad O2 sensor or a bad catalytic converter. Check for the wiring that goes to the O2 sensor. The computer may not be getting the correct reading on how much fuel burned causing the misfire.

I have a 89 dodge spirit, and it's having problems

Could be any number of things. I would start with plugs and plug wires. if its missing when under a load such as going up hill. Anything beyond that would probably worth taking it to a shop for diagnosis, they usually only charge a small fee .

How do I get to the throttle body to fix accelerator spring? The accelator cable whines at high acceleration and will continue to accelerate, but will not decelerate below a certain (whining) point.

im not 100 percent sure about your problem discreption, but give it a good spraying of wd-40 cleaner/lubricant, available from any hardware or automotive store.
