Question about 1991 Honda Accord
Runs great but every once and a while it feels as thou the automatic transmission is not fully engaged and will only go about 10-15 mph. it will run hot enough to melt the internal part of the cat converter but engine runs in normal temp and never over heats. Then car runs fine again. what would cause this? Something is causing the exhaust to over heat but not the motor and is melting the cat.

The accy fan you are refurring to is actually the a/c consensor fan.The only time that fan operates is with the cycling of the a/c system.Verify by turning a/c on ,fan should come on & off with a/c cycles..

Need a scanner ,read the codes , do what the shop manual tells you to do regarding testing and repair.
Gonna take a guess cruse control and tach problems probably a wheel sensor possible the ecu.
