SOURCE: Honda S2000 engine installed in kit car. How do I wire alternator

Unfortunately the Honda alternator is regulated by the ECU, which allows the ECU to intelligently reduce alternator engine loading to improve fuel consumption. The intelligent system uses an electrical load detector (ELD) located near the battery to control the alternator output voltage. A two wire alternator has an inbuilt regulator that will always generate the required charging voltage. When a battery is fully charged and the electrical loading is low there is no need for generating the charging voltage, in this situation the honda alternator will reduce the output voltage to reduce engine loading, hence improved fuel economy.

Trace the wires from the battery to the alternator. Make sure your getting a good connection. You need to scan the wires with a wiring schematic. Could be a break in the wire. It has to be in the wires. I don't think it is getting a good connection. Battery to Alternator wires. That is your spot. Wiring diagrams at www.commandocaralarms.com

Vacuum pump wiring

I have 84 & 85 Ford F250 4X4 w/ 6.9 diesel and they use a belt driven vacuum mounted below the alternator driven by a short belt from the alternator.

Have never seen an OEM electric vacuum pump on any Ford F250 w/ 6.9 diesel and early 7.3 non powerstroke.

This must be an after market unit, so look for marking or ID on it to find who made it.

Best guess on wiring, unit may be 2 speed, with black being common or ground and red for power.
