does it look like a radiator? Low coolant sensor, may be in the overflow tank. Check your coolant levels when cold.

this can either mean low fuel or low coolant. if the fuel level is ok, and the coolant level is ok, chances are there is a problem with the coolant level sensor.

If this is what you are seeing (see picture below) the explanation is there but you need to check your coolant level. Now I have a question, I did not see this symbol for the 2000 sunfire. I took a chance and went up to a 2001 sunfire and it was there. This should be in your owners manual if you have one. If your car was built after August of 2000 you really technically have a 2001. you can check the manufacturing date inside the drivers door on a label. If you need an owners manual for either year feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org with your make model and year (for sure and I would go with the 2001) and I will be happy to email you a copy.
