Question about 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
When i turn on my truck in the morning it makes a tackling sound my friend told me it was a push valve. I want to know if this right I don't want to spend the money on something that doesn't need to be fixed. I would also like to know if this is hard to fix or is it something I can do myself. The noise is usually in the morning when the truck is cold and after I drive it for about 10 mins. it goes away. Please help.
Unless it smokes, you can live with it. I am guessing you have more than 70k miles and that happens.
The lifters get sloppy with age and you may try using 10-50 , or 20-50 W oil which will probably quite it some.
ypically the noise is greater when it is cold and then gets quieter as it get warm and tolerances close up.
