Heater blower motor resister bad. replace with new.

its somewhere around the heater motor, most likely on top of heater box. 2 screws hold it in, and an electrial plug with 4 or 5 wires. you might have to take glove box door off to get to it.

Where is the heater resistor on a 2005 dodge dakota? Behind glove box?

should be just above the blower motor. You will need to remove the glove box door to gain access.

Blower motor wont work on high sometimes

If you blower motor works on other settings but not on high than your swich has gone bad.

Heater would only work on high for last two years. One day it quit working, but we found that a fuse had blown. Now, a few weeks later, it quit again. This time it is not a fuse. The car is a 2000 Ford...

sounds like a bad swich. but since it all of a sudden quit on you the blower motor could be bad as well. you can connect power and ground to blower to see if it works. if it turns then the swich is bad.

Heater fan only works on the two low settings.

if you have checked the switch as recommended, it is most likely to be the heater resistor which contols the diffrerent speeds. it is
normally fited near to the motor and is a squarish block with multiplug on it and coils like springs in the centre of it, look at the coils they may be burnt out.hope this helps

I have a 2002 Dodge Dakota, the heater fan does not work in high

That would be my guess as well.

To get at the blower motor resistor is located in the passenger side footwell area and is mounted with two hex screws. near the blower motor itself

Sometimes it is easier to remove the glove box which is done by opening it and squeezing the sides together to release the tabs on it and letting it open farther than usual.

No heat

You may need a GOOD new thermostat. I had the same problem twice on my first generation Dakota. The problem for me turned out to be the DODGE thermostat I used to replace the old Dodge part. I went and got a Stant from local auto parts store using the standard temperature spec and quit shivering the next time I drove it. I hope that helps!
