I just asked my chev fanatic friend about your problem. He said either the catalatic converter is bad, or a one way valve or flap that is in th Y pipe in your exhaust right before they meet. Usually on drivers side. You will see a pin type rod that goes through the exhaust pipe. It should turn or pivot freely. Try looking at the two. With the converter, wait till it starts getting hot and acting up, and listen to the exhaust coming out of the tail pipe. If you hear a slight pop pop pop, the converter is plugged. Also look under truck when it's hot and see if the converter, or manifold pipes are turning red. Do you ever smell a bad odor when it gets hot? Hope this helps

It does Pop pop pop, and normally the exaust doesn't smell like a normal rig and smells really strong and bad. It does go from one Big pipe to 2 smaller pipe, Unsure why but I will check the Cat. and the valve. Thanks And I will let you know as soon as I know something! (I believe it has more then one Cat. on it actually. This should be fun. Thanks!

SOURCE: looking for the timing specs for a 1990 350 k-1500

unplug the single pin connector on the passenger side firewall near the distributor it is on a brown wire this disables the computer advance. Now set the timing to 0 degrees and plug the connector back in. this is the same for all GM full size trucks 88-94 94-98 connector is located in the passenger compartment usually under the dash on the passenger side.

What size engine do you have in it? And, how many miles on it?? Well, I guess it really doesn't matter. At first thought it sounds like you are experienceing a fuel problem, and changing the throttlebody didn't solve your problem. I would start by looking and checking my fuel delivery system. The fact that you had to spray gas into the throttlebody tells me that fuel is not getting there. I would start with the least expensive thing to fix first. Check your gas filters. These are often , OFTEN, overlooked as a sorce of problems, and are rarely changed and often overlooked, and are the problem alot of the time. If that dosen't cure your problem check your fuel pump. Make sure it is delivering the proper pressure. I would bet your problem would be solved, but if it's not then next I would check the electrical components of your fuel system.

SOURCE: 1990 chevy blazer 350 ci throttle body fuel

Sounds like you have an injector leaking. Have someone just cycle the key on and off to run the fuel pump but don't crank the engine. If you see fuel dripping from the injectors, unbolt the injector cover on the throttle body, remove the injectors and replace the orings around the injectors.

1987 chevy with Throttle Body... You literally have to put it to the floor to get it to start, then it'll run nice for a while thinking it'll run take it for a drive and it will shortly die on

Check all fuel lines for leaks, make sure it doesn't have bad gas in it. Listen for fuel pump when key is turned on. Change fuel filter. See if that's helps.

87 chevy 350 fuel injected pickup wont run smoothly. Will start fine when cold and run for a few minutes then will be rough idle before finally quitting. I have replaced the distrubuter, coil, plugs, plug...

sounds like your egr valve is gummed up or bad. this is located behind the throttle body and has a single vaccum tube connected to it. if the diafram is still good you can remove it and clean it with WD 40 until the plunger works smooth
