SOURCE: 1998 cadillac deville

You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. If needed, you can pull back the weather seal (can't reuse it, but it's not that important) and you will be able to access everything inside the door

98 caddy deville nothstar v8 how to replace heater coil have no heat and I'm loosing water somewhere

the heater core in a 1998 Cadillac is very tricky to replace.
start with getting a pressure test to determine where the exact location of the leak is, it may not be the heater core.
if you do decide to pull the dash apart to change the core make sure the battery is disconnected for at least an hour to allow the airbag system to discharge.

I have a 1996 Buick lesabre with the 3.8 liter v6 motor. I just did a top end gasket set and need to know how to adjust the rocker arms. Can anyone help? I know I need to start on compression stroke to...

Fig. 7: Rocker arms and related components - 1991-99 VIN L engine and 1998-99 VIN 1 engine (click image for zoom)

  1. Clean the rocker arms and pedestal bolts in a suitable solution and inspect for wear. Make sure to clean all of the thread adhesive from the rocker arm pedestal bolts.

To install:
  1. If removed, install the pushrods and make sure they seat in the lifter.
On 1998-99 vehicles, the bolts rocker arm bolts are designed to permanently stretch when tightened. The correct part number fastener must be used to replace this type of fastener. Do NOT use a bolt which is stronger in this application. If the proper bolt is not used, the parts will not be tightened correctly, and part or system damage may occur.
  1. Apply a threadlocking compound to the bolt threads before reassembly.
  2. Install the pedestal and rocker arm assemblies, then tighten the retaining bolts as follows:
    1. 1988-92 vehicles: 28 ft. lbs. (18 Nm).
    2. 1991-98 vehicles: 19 ft. lbs. (29 Nm), plus an additional 90° with a torque angle meter.
    3. 1999-99 vehicles: 11 ft. lbs. (19 Nm), plus an additional 90° with a torque angle meter.

  3. Install the valve cover(s), as outlined earlier, then connect the negative battery cable.
  4. Start engine and check for fluid leaks and listen for valve train noise.
I hope this helps, and just keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment.

Have a nice day and thanks for using FixYa.

Hi, i got a Saturn LS 2 1998, and i need to change the electronic flasher. i would like to know its location. I've been told it might in the dash board area, I don't know where. Please...

Hope this helps!

The turn signal flasher is located in the IPJB. Check the label on the back of the trim panel for the exact location on your vehicle.

To replace the flasher, simply grasp and pull it straight out. Align the contacts on the replacement flasher with its mounting position in the IPJB, then push it in place.

Instrument Panel Junction Block (IPJB)

  1. Remove the lower right trim panel from the instrument panel center column. Separate the Velcroâ„¢ fastener at the bottom of the trim panel and carefully unsnap the top corners of the panel from the fasteners.
  2. Remove the applicable fuse or relay from the IPJB, based on the identification label located on the back of the trim panel. A plastic puller is also located on the trim panel to ease fuse removal.
  3. Installation is the reverse of removal

Front fender removal

Hiya... here's the details of fender removal/installation:
the left-side (same for right-side) fender has 6 bolts attached to the "sidebody" frame.
The bolt location:
3 are on the top fender-easy to find when hood is open,
1 is hidden at the rear of top inner fender-just open the left-front door wide to find it (early equinoxes had foam-like noise absorber material in it, just remove it from underneath fender after the wheelwell liner is removed),
1 bolt is hidden at bottom of front fender area at headlight/bumper area-you need to remove plastic wheelwell liner to gain access,
1 bolt is hidden at bottom of rear fender area where the black plastic rocker panel meets below the fender...
THIS area is probably the most difficult task to do since it requires you to remove a small bolt found on the front of rocker panel behind the front-left wheel then use a flat screwdriver or clip removal tool to pry open the black plastic **clip's 'dime-sized' head prior to pull out the clip's body (it has 8 clips underneath the chassis) then use your hands to grasp the rocker panel underneath, pull it down-toward you...this should do it....USE CARE during rocker panel and clip removal/installation so you don't break the clips!
It also has yellow plastic clips inside the rocker panel (used as a guide during installation into rocker sill holes-use caution not to break it)
**note: early equinoxes had rocker panel clips that you can actually pull it out from the hole, while later equinoxes has 'built-in' clips inside rocker panels that you don't see the clip heads below it due to engineering part design change**
Be sure to exercise care when handing this task!
