SOURCE: 1996 Honda Accord Rough Idle Even After tune up

Perform a valve clearance inspection and adjust if necessary. Tight or sticking valves will cause a misfire or rough running concern. Note: Perform valve adjustment when the engine is stone cold. 4cyl: INT 0.26mm EXH: 0.30mm (V6 engine are hydraulic and no adjust necessary.) Also check for a sticking or stuck open EGR valve. For diagnostic purposes only: Remove the EGR valve. Place a business card over the EGR passage and bolt the EGR valve back on. This plugs the EGR ports and if the misfire goes away the EGR valve is partially stuck open and is defective.
Check for low fuel pressure. Check for low compression. Check cam timing. Check for a weak ignition coil. Also don't over look the possibility of worn or broken engine mounts which cause excessive engine movement and engine vibration. -hope this helps

2006 honda accord won't start

Hi there:
You will have to pinpoint what the engine is missing Spark / Fuel / Compression

All three of these are tested when the engine is being cranked over. There are two way of checking for fuel. Fuel pressure and fuel trigger. Both are very important and must be present for the engine to start. Fuel pressure is self explanatory. You just hook up the gage and see what the reading is. Fuel trigger is check with a noid light. The injector gets unplugged and the noid light gets plugged in to the injector clip. With the engine cranking over, this light must blink. This is the signal to the injectors from the computer. You can have all the fuel pressure in the world, but it wont matter if the injector is not pulsing gas into the cylinder like it should.

Compression tester, spark tester, fuel pressure gage and noid light are all accessible at your local auto store. All three tests play a very important part in diagnosing a no start condition. Be extremely careful when doing these tests.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

Try getting a injector cleaning kit from your local auto parts store. It could be just dirty injectors.

My 1992 accord will not start. cranks over but no spark to plugs and not getting any fuel.

no spark means bad coil, also check for cracked distributor cap. No fuel could mean fuel pump not gettin power or it is gone. or clogged fuel filter.l

I have a 1987 honda accord. It has the programmed fuel injection system. The fuel is making it all the way to the fuel rail, yet the combustion chamber is dry!!! It has good fuel pressure... Does anyone...

Honda injector works on a negative ground circuit, where the circuit is controlled by opening and closing the negative pole. There should always be a hot wire (pos.) to each injector when ignition is on. Test with test light at the injector. If you do have power there then it would most likely be a bad computer. If not then look at wiring or power supply.

Vtec 2.2L misfires

misfires wont always trigger a OBDI code but take your injector out and have it bench tested at local parts store or repair center assuming you have spark in that cylinder, cheaper usually but if it needs replacement heres some great places to get cheap replacement
