It sounds like it just needs to be reinitialized. Turn your key to the on position with motor off and hold the up/full vent button down for at least 30 seconds or until your sunroof either clicks or goes to the full vent position. That should fix your problem.

most of the time on those sun roofs when you hear the clicking noise coming from the headliner when trying to open or close your sunroof and you have to help it move that clicking is the gear in the motor skipping ,I just fixed one on an infinity the other day that was doing the same thing ,the plastic gear gets worn down and will not grab any longer ,hope this helps!

if the sunroof makes no attempt to open, and the dome light does not dim when you press the switch, chances are the switch is defective. If the motor is bad, or the roof jammed you should see the dome light dim and blink when you attempt to open it.

CEHECK FUSE CAREFULLY....IT IS BEST TO PRY THE BUTTON OUT AND CHECK THE WIRING FOR TIGHTNESS.....IT IS POSSIBLE TO EASLY BREAK THE GLASS OR SCREW UP THE TRACKS...IF YOU CAN'T REMOVE THE SWITCH THEN GET YOURSELF A HAYNES MANUAL...i'D OPT OUT FOR A GARAGE IF NOT SURE OF THE JOB..
