Check the compression on the cylinder. Compare it to specs and to the other cylinders. If the compression is too low, it can cause misfiring. Low compression could be due to piston ring wear, cylinder wall wear, or improper valve seating.

What will make the #1 and #2 spark plugs to foul out? Parts that are new:Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil, pickup coil.Cleaned the intake with Sea-Foam, that's what made it run better, but only #1 and #2 plugs...

I would go for the fuel injectors. Dry carbon, being black(to much fuel) or white (to little fuel). Both lean to the injectors. Clogged or open. My guess would be black. The crack would really only cause a O2 sensor fault, sucking air, that could cause a white burn on the plugs, to lean. Have the codes read..

Red max eb7001 has new coil, gapped right still no spark. im going crazy

1) The primary circuit: is battery, cap, resistor, capacitor, switch ignition+secondary circuit spark plug, distributor, high tension wires+spark plug.
the mayor problem arise in the coil and distributor, And the most common problem INCORRECT Choice de spark plugs or improperly gapped.
Rememeber the coil send 20,000-30,000 Vdc for spark plug.
Test with a screwdriver , pull out the center wire from the distributor cap and hold 3/8inch from a good ground. Crack the engine, if there no spark, or the spark is weak, the coil is defective or the high tension wires.
2) Bypass by a moment the baas resistor with a jumper wire while cranking engine If the engine starts, replace the ballast resistor.

God bless you.

It cranks over but no spark

Welcome to Fixya

Check each plug wires are ok. Replace them ASAP if you found cuts are the like. If wires are good then check the spark plugs one at a time. Check gaps, age is important if they are old, replace them with new spark plugs. Check the distributor cap, the points in poor condition, cracked distributor cap or rotor arm, poor connections to the ignition coil / circuit & earthing, the coil itself shorting out.

Than you for usign Fixya!

I have a 94 s10 tbi it runs fine when its completely dry out but loses all power when it rains or snows what is my problem

it is a spark issue.
im pretty sure these have a coil pack ignition.

when a coil pack gets old it may develop a crack and anytime moisture gets in the coil it kills the spark and the engine doesnt burn fuel like it should.

the way to check for a cracked coil is to start the engine and get a spray bottle full of water and spray the coils with a light mist of water. the engine should die down or quit completely if a coil is cracked. you will notice no difference if the coils are fine and the water will not damage anything.

if you have a cracked coilpack then it will need to be replaced accordingly.

With a 12-year old car, common problems are:

1. Old, cracked, worn out coil
2. Old, dried, cracked spark plug cables

Car won't start, new battery, starter ok, just won't kick over Saturn 2004, 80,000 miles, oil change 2 months ago,

If the starter/Battery are ok.Check for spark by pulling off a sparkplug wire, have someone try to start hold wire near sparkplug tip you'll hear the spark jump to the plug tick..tick..tick..sound.Be carefull to hold wire just far enough to hear spark, also this is the secondary circuit from the coil it's high voltage wear a glove. If you smell gas youre geting gas if no spark it is 1 of the following.Bad Coil, or ignition modulator, crack in distributer, cracked wires that cause spark to not reach plugs.Good Luck.

I can't find the spark plugs in my 2005 sonata

To locate and change the (4) spark plugs on a 2004 Hyundai 2.4L 4 cylinder engine:
Remove the (4) 12mm bolts from the decorative plastic engine cover. Remove plastic cover from engine and place it off to the side out of your way.
Standing in front of the car, the (4) spark plugs are located laterally (left to right) in the recessed area underneath where the plastic engine cover was removed.
Note: This engine has (2) coils....They are located above spark plugs number (2) and (3) from left to right.
Starting with the fist spark plug on the left: Remove the spark plug cable by pulling straight up on the insulated connector. Using a spark plug socket, remove the old spark plug and install a new one in it's place.
To access the second spark plug from the left, remove the electrical connector and the spark plug cable wire from coil number (1) and then remove the (2) 12mm bolts that secure the coil to the engine. Spark plug number (2) is located directly under the coil. Lift the coil straight up removing the insulated connector from spark plug number (2). Using a spark plug socket, remove old spark and install a new one in it's place.
Repeat same procedures for spark plugs number (3) and (4).
Note: If you have the (6) cylinder engine, the front (3) sparks pluge are readilly accessible but in order to access the (3) rear spark plugs, you will have to remove the intake manifold.
