Why does my RX330 cruise control light randomly start flashing?

I just replaced the brake light switch to solve the problem of about 6 warning lights randomly coming on (solution found here). Now my green "cruise" light will randomly start flashing at about 1 sec intervals while driving. If I turn the cruise off and then back on it stays solid until next time.

SOURCE: all dash warning lights came

Hatterasnc,

You're alternator has gone bad and the vehicle was running on battery power. The "clicking" sound is your now dead battery that does not have enough power to turn over the starter. You might also want to check your power steering pump for leak. This is a know problem with early LS400s and will most likey be the cause of the alternator failure. I just dropped $1050.00 to fix the very same promblems you have.

SOURCE: BRAKE light comes on occasionally - parking brake not engaged.

check your brake fluid it is more then likely low.You might need brakes as when they wear they take up brake fluid as the piston extends to make up for the worn pad material.

Lower R/L brake lights and cruise control stop working at the same time

Well before you listen to all these people and do all kinds of crazy random replacements I'd suggest the very simple very easy solution of checking the fuse. If the fuse is bad it's a 3 dollar replacement. If that doesn't work I'd replace all the bulbs, more expensive but cheaper than the control switch. If that is bad it's also a fairly easy fix but a little more pricey.

Crusie control does not work on 2011 gmc sierra 1500 and I've already replaced the switch?

If the switch is replaced, then it can be wiring issue or faulty cruise control board. But as the switch is replaced, get the voltage at the switch tested to confirm the switch is actually receiving voltage. If no voltage received at switch power supply wire then ,apply external 12 volt power to the cruise control switch wire and then see if cruise control comes ON.If yes, then you know wiring is issue.

Why does my Cruise Control light flash when engaging?

Its the brake system.
The flashing light tells you something is wrong with the cruise components. Could be the brake light switch, or the ABS if equipped.

My cruise control won't work and my brake light is on. The car is a 1994 Toyota Camry. Thank you.

Your brakes warning light or your actual brake lights? If it is your warning light that can come Monday if you're park break is on or slightly on or the switch that says that it is on is faulty, in which case it may tell your cruise control to turn off. If your brake lights stay on there's something pul to you about your switch by the pedal as your cruise will not work when you hit the bricks and this will be perceived as you hitting the brakes. A break warning light will also, come on if your brake fluid is low.

HI, I have a 1988 Ford Ranger, V-6, 2.9L. I've had problems with the engine stalling on an intermittent basis. The first time it happened was when I switched on the cruise but it has happened since with or...

I solved this problem so I'm posting this to help others. I was getting a code indicating a problem with the BOO switch (brake on/off). C the switch which is located on the brake pedal and continued to have a code 74. I found out that the cruise control has a redundant brake on/off switch at the end of the cruise control vacuum hose which is also located near the top of the brake pedal. I disconnected and plugged the vacuum hose leading to this switch and removed the cruise control from the engine compartment. This solved the trouble code problem although I don't have cruise anymore.

1991 Maxima cruise control cuts out.

I had a problem with the interlock switch located on the brake pedal. There are too switches one for the brake lights and one dedicated to the cruise control. If either switch is acting up it will affect the cruise control. Then interlock switch is the same switch that is used on the clutch with cars that have a manual transmission. It has smaller electrical terminals in the connector than the brake light switch. You can jumper the connection and see if it solves the problem. You still have the other switch that will disengage the cruise control when you hit the brake. If that is the problem then that's the one you need to replace.
