Question about 2002 Volkswagen Beetle Turbo S

1 Answer

Alarm system I have just bought a 2002 vw beetle 2ltr which has no handbook. When I leave my dog inside, he sets off the alarm. Do you have any idea as to where the sensor is to stop this, please.

On the drivers b post there should be a switch.if you double press the remote on locking it disarms the deadlocking and the interior monitors also

I have a 05 plate coupe 2ltr se, can't turn immobiliser/alarm off with fobs, both fobs have new batteries and have ben sync'ed with car as per handbook, could it be a fault with body unit

This is a long shot but worth trying as it is free:

Disconnect both leads from the battery, contact the two removed leads together (this will diffuse the ECU memory and re-boot the system)
leave for a few minutes then reconnect.
(The above can lose a radio code if applicable)

This can reconfiger the systems and sort out a multitude of issues.

Hope it sorts it out for you.

Hi! I have a 2000 VW bug. My boyfriend drove it and left the lights on, killing the battery. It happens... We tried to give it a jump start today, but every time we hook it up the alarm goes off. It goes...

Just leave the car battery charge up and then unhook the battery cabbles.........It should get enough charge in about 15 min to start without assiestance from jump start,...........Hope this helps.

I have vw touran as hire car how do i set alarm so i can leave the dog in the car

There are two buttons just behind the drivers door, between the front door and the door for the back seat. These buttons can be used to disable sensors for the inside of the car and for towing.

My 2002 VW Beetle (not turbo) after charging battery won't run

Hopefully you are using the same ignition key you had before to start the car. This flip module mhas a chip that tells the system you have the proper key. If for some unknown reason the system lost this program it is probably a dealer only problem. The chip is inside the fob right near the key itself.

Have a 2000 VW Beetle. The alarm won't turn off!

My 2000 Beetle does same thing (although not all the time). Just found an internet post that suggests there is a problem in the door lock sensor. I assume you are using a regular key - not
the keyless entry - like I am. He also said that you can disable the alarm (also disables the
keyless entry - which doesn't bother me) by leaving the front door AND the rear trunk open and
starting the car up. Seems to work so far. I will get the door lock sensor replaced and turn the
alarm system back on (not sure how yet), and let you know if that stops the problem.

2002 volkswagon beetle says that the trunk is when not.

The switch in the trunk which tells the alarm that the trunk lid is closed is either defective or not correctly adjusted. If this info is of no help to you, than you don't know enough to fix it. Take it to a reputable VW shop for repair.
