Question about 1986 Audi 4000 CS
Car is not overheating, but the light saying it is keeps coming on. as soon as I Turn the car off it won't re-start for 3-4 hours. What to do? It must be a sensor, just can't find it.

could be a bent valve but all depends how much da car means to you if you want to keep your car bring to a local garage or specialest ask them or bring it to a place where dat modify cars and ask them how much dont always go on 1 garage quote shop around and pull a fella in a garage to the side and ask em would he do u a favour as an nixer to do the job and see want he says come bak to me if notin happens

This is a common fault and is caused by worn brushes on the blower motor.
Removal of the motor by dismantling the glove box assy, then turning the brushes 180 degrees or replacing them will solve this.

When you mention the radiator having a hot upper in pipe and a cool bottom out pipe tells me that the coolant is not moving around the engine. This could be down to a water pump not working, blocked radiator, thermostat not opening. The bottom hose should be cooler than the top hose but once the engine is up to working temp which is around 85/90 degrees c for an audi the bottom still should be farly hot to touch. Hope this helps

sounds like a faulty oil level sensor i,v replaced them in the past you need to get it checked first because the sensors aren,t cheap
