Sound like a hide-a-way strobe tube...used as a warning light. Here is a link to a similar item: http://www.swps.com/whelen-hide-a-way-strobe-kit.html. They are used for a wide variety of applications where warning lights are needed, but a roof top light may not be the owners first choice. A lot of people will leave the bulbs in if they get rid of a vehicle because they require a 1 inch hold to be drilled into the light housing. If you remove the bulb, there is a chance that dirt and water will enter the housing. I have them on my vehicles. Hope this helps.

First of all, is your truck a diesel? If so, depending on the location of the pigs tail you described, it may be the glow plug heater light. When you first turn the ignition to the "on" position, in the upper left hand side of the instrument cluster, the light for the glow plug heater which looks like a sort of coil, will come on for about 3-5 seconds then go out. After the light goes out, the glow plugs are hot enough to start the combustion process, and you can start the truck. I hope this helps you!

2004 chevy siverado interior lights not working. when door opens they will not work. but interior lights work with interior switches and with key fob

If your problem is in all doors I'm probably wrong :)

But..you may find that an inner door jamb spring loaded switch has failed. It works exactly like the one in your fridge does, It triggers power to the light when the spring is out ,.. sometimes it gets stuck in you might just be able to clean and loosen it up.

How do you get access to the day time headlight bulbs to replace them on a 2004 Chevy 2500 HD crew cab.

Pull on the flat "clips" to unlock the headlights, remove the headlight assembly. You can then access the DRL bulb sockets, squeeze in the tab on the socket and twist a 1/4 turn to release the socket (clockwise as viewed from the front of the lens).

If you feel this rattle while driving at low speed or turning at low speed it is likely a worn out steering shaft coupler, it is very common.

First try rotating the tires to the rear. Does it go away? If you apply the brakes does it pull to the left? Could be a draging caliper or the slides may be hanging up.

Tail light problebs

Bad ground....and possibly a bad flasher module........stop lamp fuse........corroded wiring between the cab and the tail lights........If your truck has trailer light wiring check to see that it isn't causing the problem.........most after market kits plug into the main plug under the rear of the truck and over time can corrode and create bad connections
hope this helps....good luck!

Trailer tail lights

I have this same problem with my truck. The U haul guys and I tried and tested every scenario, leaving out hard wiring behind the plug (where the adapter goes). I haven't tried it as I don't ever pull anything, however it can't to too hard to do.
