Try this web site. It takes you to Auto Zone "How To" site. This one covers the 4 cylinder as you did not indicate the engine size.

Good luck and hope this helps.

SOURCE: How do you replace the EGR on a 2002 ford escape?

To replace the the spark plugs on the V6, you'll need to remove the intake manifold. There is a coil on top of each plug (COP). Check this website for info:

The same link will also show the R&R of the EGR valve.

SOURCE: cruise control ford escape 2002. ford escape

If the cruise lamp comes on and the cruise does not set i would advise inspecting the cruise cable and make certain it is not broken, if ok the the servo has likely failed.

I am having difficulty locating it. I need to know how to locate and replace a thermostat on a 2002 ford escape

Follow the top radiator hose down to where it connects to the engine. You should find a dome shape item or a couple of smaller bolts that attach to the engine to the side of the radiator hose and the thermostat will be inside the housing. You will need to drain the radiator, remove the bolts holding the thermostat housing to the engine and remove the old stat and put in a new one be sure to make note of how the stat is facing when you remove it and put the new one in the same way. then reconnect the thermostat housing making sure the gasket is in place so it won't leak, then refill the radiator slowly so you don't cause an air lock in the radiator, with cap still off start the engine and allow it to warm up until the stat opens and then you will need to add more antifreeze to the system. Double check for any leaks. Turn on the heater and make sure you have good heat and you should be good

2002 ford escape temp guage says normal water will blow out of the degas bottle when engine reaches temp had to replace radiator trans cooler was leaking into radiator also replaced thermostat

Blown radiator hose? Might have blown a head gasket right there, which would continually send hot bubbles into the cooling system and degas bottle. If you see bubbles continually,it's a head gasket probably.
Might be the degas cap not releasing at 16 psi or your cooling system has air in it, OR your cooling fan is not actuating. Many things.
Also I have gotten 3 out of 5 bad thermostats from aftermarket stores. Get a Motorcraft thermostat. Did you replace with a NEW radiator?

How much will it cost to repair an exhaust leask in a 2002 escape

that is completely dependent on where the leak is-if it is an exhaust head, it would be a lot of labor to replace the gasket or possibly the head-if it is the pipe before the catalytic converter, it also might be rather expensive, but from there it is probably under $150, be it the muffler or tailpipe-you need to say where the leak is located for a helpful answer.

Replacing the gaskets is not too difficult for someone with basic mechanical/handyman skills. Go to the website for a tutitorial on the job:
http://www.escape-central.com/1forum/showthread.php?threadid=32550&referrerid=11756
While you have the intake off, make sure you replace the spark plugs.
