Car runs hot loses water.then it will be ok cant find the water pump to replace or the thermostat

The water pump is hidden behind the timing belt cover. The water pump and timing belt and crankshaft are all connected through the timing belt. The thermostat is located to the right side of the engine. You'll be able to tell if its the thermostat housing by 2 clues. 1 is the dome shape the housing has, and 2) is the hose going to it from the radiator.
If you are not familiar with changing the timing belt, please pay close attention to the timing setup. If you wish to tackle this job, spend 30 bucks on the manual and read up on it first.

How to adjust de belt to grand cherokee 8 cilinders 4.7

  1. Step 1 Find the belt tensioner pulley. The tensioner pulley is generally between the crankshaft and a component toward the top of the hood area.
  2. Step 2 Check the belt routing so you know how to replace the belt. You may be able to find a belt routing diagram on a decal on the fan shroud or in support documentation. Otherwise, make you own sketch for reference.
  3. Step 3 Rotate the belt tensioner pulley, using the wrench, to and relieve tension on the belt.
  4. Step 4 Slip off the old belt and slowly release the tensioner pulley.
  5. Step 5 Use your belt routing diagram to put the new belt onto all of the pulleys. Pay close attention to the water pump pulley, as incorrect routing can cause the water pump to run backwards and overheat.
  6. Step 6 Make sure the belt is correctly routed and seated on all pulleys. Rotate the tensioner again to allow for the belt to slip onto all pulleys and then release the tensioner again to regain correct tension on the belt.

Change v belt to power steering

you dont say what engine but they are basically the same, if the ps belt is behind the other belts they will have to be removed look for the adjustments and loosen them, pay close attention to the routing take a picture or draw a diagram, usually the ps pump has a slotted side, loosen this bolt and others holding it in place and it will slide in, if it is mounted rigid the adjustment is from some other componet the belt goes around some of these used a idler type pullly, on these loosen the center bolt and then the nut on a long threaded bolt on the side to loosen the pully

Need to put now belts on

Should just be one serpentine belt. Make sure you know engine size and if it has a smog pump. There is a diagram in the engine compartment that shows how the belt is routed....pay attention to how you take it off. I'd also suggest you keep the old one as an emergency spare.

Waterump installaction

I've never seen a pulley fail... If it's just the pulley, remove the fan and change pulley. If pump has failed and the pulley is wobbling, yes...change the pump. To remove, just take off what's in the way, take the pump off, remove ALL gasket material on the block and put new pump on, reversing the process. There are lots of half decent manuals to guide you if you need them but if you pay attention to what goes where and mark everything as you go, you should be OK. If you overheated, change the thermostat also...they often fail after an overheat!

How to change the serpentine belt on a lumina euro 3.1??

I found on my 92 lumina 3.1 the easiest way to change the belt is to have two people handy (you and a helper) push the belt tensioner (which is more in the middle of the belt system, its the only thing that has give when pressure is applied) down (which will loosen the belt) have your partner slip the belt off the altenator (which should be on the very top of the belt system on the passenger side) and just pay attention to the way the belt is routed as you remove it, put the new one on (routed correctly) push the tensioner again have your partner slip it back over the altenator....and you have a new belt on with no tools :)

just pay good attention to the routing of the belt, and i also think there is a black cover over the belt which needs to be removed before the old belt can be taken off (if you dont see it at first you will find it) it has 3 bolts i think and also a diagram of the routing....

TIP: the tensioner will take some muscle to move down, and yes the belt is running over it....
