CK your distributor rotor ....pull it off and look in side the hole where it fit on the distributor shaft if it really black in side replace it . If OK then either your ignition module ( inside the distributor a little black block with wires going to both end of it ) or the Stator inside the distributor has shorted out . The stator is kinda hard to change if you don't have the right tools . i think rebuilt distributors from the parts store have gotten a lot cheaper then they use to be ; you may want to change the whole thing a new one will come with a new module and stator

Were is1992 Honda Accord ignition Module

  • It's inside the distributor. I recommend on OEM ignition module not used or parts store special. It's way easier if you remove the whole distributor and get to it from the bottom side.

  • If you have any comments please feel free to leave them here.
  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

check all efi and ign fuses first...then check pickup coil and ignition coil in distributor w/ ohm meter...since you already replace the ignitor, then mostly likely it's the pickup coil or ignition coil...buy the whole

Wont start no fire no gas

check the distributor, if the igniter or the sensor inside go bad then it will not run. you will be better off replace the whole distributor because it has a better warranty than the components inside of it. plus you don't have to figure out which component is bad.

Crank but no fire

on any car always check ur fuses first... and ifthat does't work then check your distributor by taking out a spark plug from only one cylnder and put it in the plug and lay it on the block. then turn your key as if to crank it and c if ur getting a spark from the spark plug. if u aren't, then its either the distributor cap, a worn rotory button inside the distributor cap or it could be the moduel inside the distributor which would then mean youll have to replace the whole distributor

Where is the camshaft positon sensor located

It is inside the distributor. It reads slots in a rotating disc in the base of the distributor. Most service manuals will tell you that it is non-serviceable and you must replace the whole assembly but I have found just the sensor at some parts stores and repaired the distributor before...a little tricky, but possible.
