This is a problem - I had both drivers and passenger bulbs go on me and came at it through the wheel arch. The method is the same for both sides.
Short handled Phillips screwdriver
2 x Latex gloves - to save scratches and dirty hands
Use 1 glove to save your hands
Lift bonnet to get as much light on the job as you can
Turn wheel in so you can get at wheel arch liner unmolested
Remove the plastic nuts – don’t loose them
Peel back liner – you can now see the back of the lens cover
You may need a torch, I did
Turn cover and pull it away – you can now see back of bulb
Remove clip, noting the way to the comes out, there is a notch on the base of the bulb and the replacement must go in that way
Use clean glove to handle bulb, keep to base of bulb and not the glass
Replace is the reverse of the above
Allow 30-45 mins first time

Spray a little penetrating spray like WD-40, down into socket, give it a couple of minutes and wiggle from side to side & pull & see if that works.

I found after about 30 minutes that it was necessary to remove the batter to give more access to the light. try the other bulb first to see how it goes in and out
