2004 audi A4 1.8t warning light

Warning light, 2004 A4 1.8t ... shape is a circle with an X through it and a little dash on top ... what does this mean? I have no manual.

Hi i drive an audi a4 tdi 2004 there is an orange circle on the dash with opeen and closed brackets on each side what does this mean please?


It's an yellow warning indicator lamp. It lights when brake pads are weared. Now it's time to replace the used brake pads!

Audi A4 1.9 TDI. light on dash, yellow circle, with yellow brackets at either side, just came on today. car running fine though

A warning light has come on. it is a circle with 3 broken dashes either side. what is it, could it be a steering sensor


NO, it is not any steering sensor.
Don't worry, it is worn-out brake pads warning sensor!
You must replace used brake pads !

A circle light is displayed on the dash of my audi A6 3F year 2000


Hello! The circle means your brake pads need to be changed.

Here is a link for a "Quick Reference Guide" which clarifies your dash warning lights.

Google "All Audi A6 warning lights with an explanation"

Click on the forth selection ( you can make sure it's the correct choice by reading the address before you click). It is

Then download the guide. Page 2 shows the dash and identifies each light.

Warning light on audi a4


This is the indicator for ESP (stability control). If you look on your dash, you'll see a button with, you guessed it, ESP written on it. This allows you to turn your stability control on and off. If your light is on constantly, try pushing the ESP button. If it flashes on and off (ie during hard driving) this simply means it is working.

If it is the display for the gears flashing, this indicates a fault with the gearbox system, this is more common on multitronic gearbox's
