This sounds like your clutch plate is no longer making contact,or it has worn to a point where it just slips.You are going to have to take it in to a tranny shop and have it looked at or if you are handy start dropping the tranny out yourself.Replace the clutch and the throw-out bearing at the same time.No one will know for sure whats wrong untill they get into it.Good Luck

The clutch n this make model and year is a hydraulic design, it is not adjustable as it is self adjusting. If you have a hard pedal and no free play the clutch disc is worn out and you need a new clutch,.
