SOURCE: 1995 wells cargo wiring diagram

Here are some diagrams that are very useful when installing any kind of trailer wiring or connectors, and if installing an electric brake control unit be certain to follow the directions that are with the electric brake control unit because they will be very specific for that control unit. Test all connections with a test light before actually making any of the connections, and the connections should be soldered together and do not use wire connectors for the best results. Let me know if you require any further assistance.

check the wires in the trailer plug as it appears that one wire is loose/broken or there is a ground wire problem
there wiring of the plug for the trailers has to be as per standards to be compatible with the box on the jeep

You likely need diode isolators on the turn signal wiring on the trailer, or on vehicle side connector. Your local auto parts store should have what you need, and show you how to install them.

Hit brakes and back up lighs come on, just rewired truck and boat wires from the wires that were there. truck had blue and darker green wire connected at truck (not going to 4 wire connecter)

These vehicle have all tail light in circuit to the rear lights. You must purchase and install a trailer light conversion kit from a local parts store, not hard wired in anymore. The converter will plug in at the rear taillight harness at the frame area left of spare tire and no other wiring is required. These kits can be purchased at any part store for $30 to $40 and work very well. Hope this helps.

Honda CRV 2006 trailer lighting connector location

You need lots of resolve:

You need to REMOVE the side panel of the cargo area. Remove the lip of the cargo area that sits under the door. Then, unscrew the grommet nut as this will catch on the side panel. Pry the lighter socket out and seperate the connection. Then, gently start pulling the side panel free (left side) from floor to window to back door.

This will expose the whole left side of the cargo are (about 6 square feet in total). Voila. Closest to the cargo door, down low, taped to the existing wiring is the plug connector for the trailer. down on the floor is a plug for the hole that you need to pull out. When you put your wiring through, connect the connector and replace all parts. As you go through the process pay special attention to the parts, there are a few places you need to remove clips that hold parts of the panel in place. Patience is key.

I'm pretty sure Honda wouldn't be happy about owners doing this under warranty...took us 1/2 hour but we are pretty handy and not afraid of the warranty...if I had to do work like this by paying somebody just to maintain the warranty, I'd be broke by now...

I'm wondering if you figured this out yet, given that your post was some time ago??
