SOURCE: 91 chevy s-10 tail light short

You certainly have a short somewhere, and tracking down shorts are not ever easy. I would check the dash switch itself, especially if it was working fine before and nothing else was done.

SOURCE: no dash or tail lights

the only thing i can think of then is that if he didn't completely cover any of the wires with electrical tape or wire caps if he spliced them, then that would cause it. If that isn't it then I am not sure what else it could be, sorry.

SOURCE: fuse keeps blowing

Depending what amperage fuse was blown, ( agreeing with jtarin if you are dealing with the brake lights) Then you could have a possible short to Ground. Meaning that there is a break in the wire insulation allowing the bare wire contacting metal. This Break in the insulation is before the Load ( bulb, motor, etc) Allowing the fuse to blow.

Check wires for cracks and breaks. replace/repair as needed.

SOURCE: Right hand side tail light short circuit Fuse

you must have another bad lamp either in the front turn/parking light circuit or the left side rear tail, cause most tail light fuses feed all 4 sides

Keeps blowing off parking light fuse. Blinker & brake work but no parking light or off tail light

if you have just replace a tail light bulb check that it was the right bulb as the problem is a dead short
one bulb type has 2 contacts and the other has 1 contact which if placed in the wrong holder will short out the circuit and blow the fuse

Check for any short circuit in cruise control, light control and switch. The positive wire is shorted to ground.

I have a 96 grand am and it keeps blowing the fuse for the tail lights and dash only

There is a short in your wiring.. i would look first near the tail light connector in the trunk.. and around the tail lights. If it blows that quick it is a dead short and you should be able to find it. move wires around and try another fuse.. if it stops blowing look at the last place you were checking the wires.

My fuse keeps blowinng when i turn on my lights but the headlights ,blake lights and turn signals work but no tail or parking lights

If the fuse blows, you have a dead short to ground somewhere, likely around the tail lights or parking lights. Try this:

Get a box of the correct fuses.
Remove all tail and parking bulbs and put in a new fuse. If the fuse does not blow, try installing each bulb at a time to see which light assembly causes the fuse to blow.
Let's suppose its the RH tail light assembly. Pull it off the car and check for dirt and damaged wiring.

If this is an older vehicle, there may be wiring damage (due to rust) in the harness under the carpets.

Tail Lights

You have the feed wire (HOT WIRE) feeding to a ground, causing fuse to blow. Have wires checked from brake switch to tail lights. Also, possible bad brake switch shorting out. Hope this helps.

Tail light fuse keep blowing

The fuse is blowing because there is a short to ground in the circuit.
It also includes the parking lights in the front of the car.
The sockets and wiring will need to be checked for shorts.

Tail light fuse blowing

If it has a towing package harness,it might be in it.Remove all the tail light bulbs, and put a new fuse in to see if the fuse will blow.If it does, check the head light switch ,and the dimmer for the dash lights for a short. If the fuse does not blow, with all the bulbs out then look for a bad light socket shoring ,out,by putting one bulb in at a time, and when the fuse blows, that will be the socket that is bad.

FUSES KEEP BLOWING FOR THE DASH AND TAIL LIGHTS

your lights are grounding out some where you will have to check for a dead short in the wiring use a volt meter in the resitance mode and track through you power side of the lights untill you find your dead short, start at the back and work your way to the fuse box pull the fuse and follow the wire. there is a short in it it will just take some time going through look for worn coating, cracks, or melted.
good luck & and happy hunting
