The location should be in the back of your owners manual.
The relay should be under the hood on the firewall or in the fuse box on the passenger side.

Sounds like fuel pump is running after turning off ignition

Locate the fuel pump relay(probably in the underhood fuse/relay box).The next time the pump stays running,thump that relay to see if the pum turns off,if not,unplug it and swap it with one of the other relays to see if it comes back on.

Need to find fuel cutoff inertia switch in a 1996 ford ranger - will this cause fuel pum to not even hum? Can I hear fuel pump since it is inside gas tank? Can bad relay cause fuel pump to not work?

it is locate under dash board. a little to the right of center it is about 3/4 inch by 1inch is proably red or orange with a push button on one side. push the button

Jim; have you confirm the fuel pum[ is working? If it is, you should get something out of the fuel rail. Sadly. Pump is a dealer recommended repair cause the pump is more than likely in the fuel tank. Thry should changre you filter at the same time.

Fuel pump location:  Under vehicle, driver side, below seating area, rear of engine, mounted on frame rail in fuel line

Engine is getting no fuel

did you try taking the pumps out and trying them individualy? cuz they myt b broken.. and besides you dont need to put more gas cuz you should hear them turn on especialy with the tank open./ . . . . cuz if all the wires are ok, its gota be a prob with the pums. . and you do have an old van. . 8)

Fuel pump shut off switch

no it doesn't. the fuel pum has a relay that is located in the junction box under the hood if your vehicle is not starting because your not getting fuel check the relay. I use the a/c clutch relay to switch with the fuel pump relay if the vehicle starts just replace the relay if the vehicle doesn't start then you have a bad fuel pump...please rate
