Question about 2005 Ford E-Series
I have a 2005 Ford E-450 body with a Class C Fleetwood Jamboree 31M motorhome/rv attached. The current radio/stereo is a Jensen VR-180 (no longer produced) that no longer works. I have a Jenson VR-185 replacement that is the same 1.8din size. How do I remove the old VF-180 when there are no "holes" to use the removal tool???
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

If you are still having problems removing the stereo box from the dash, remove the two cap-head screws located above the AC controls/below the stereo control panel and give the top and bottom of the panel a gentle tug and you'll be able to remove the entire dash panel with the stereo enclosure installed. Retainer pins located behind the panel hold it in place to the dashboard assembly. My OEM 6-disc CD unit finally started to malfunction, indicating that all 6 slots are full when there are actually no slots filled. Can't load a CD nor can I convince it that the ghost CDs can be ejected. Its time for an aftermarket replacement/upgrade.

I just removed my radio today from my 2003 windstar. i bought the "radio removal tool" from ford (8 bucks) but could have used a wire coat hanger. The trick is to insert the tool/hanger into the holes and push them to the outside like your spreading them. the radio comes loose , no tugging or prying.

Yes, the front panel needs to be removed but it takes 2 minutes. There are two screws holding the panel on, look above the instrument cluster. Once you remove those, gently pry the panel loose with a small flathead.. there are probably 8 plastic clips that hold it on.
Once the panel is loose, you'll need to disconnect all the plugs from the back, like the headlight switch, Info Center, and AC/Heater controls. You'll probably also need to lower the tilt wheel all the way down and place the shifter all the way down as well. You should be able to work the panel out then.
The radio is then held in place with 2 - 4 screws.

U will need to go to the Ford dealer and buy the special tool kit (about $5) that lets u remove the radio from the dash, the two little tools release the spring clips on the sides of the radio that retain it in the dash, I also think that u can get these tools at any NAPA auto parts store.
