That can be all kinds of things from vacuum leaks to air flow issues. . If it's not giving you any problems , then it doesn't seem to be hurting anything, but if you want to pinpoint the problem, you have to have it plugged into a computer and it will pinpoint the problem. You can buy such computer at Walmart for $100, or have a mechanic charge you $75-$100. I hope this helps, and if it's any help at all, My engine light has been on for 2 years now. If it ain't broke, I don't fix it . Hope this helps, please rate solution

Many newer cars have a safety feature that shuts the car down if oil level is low. check oil level if good may need to replace sensor.

You may have turned it on ... as in to stay on ... this light normally will stay on for a couple minutes allowing you to get out and away from the car with light ... If you turned it on to stay on ... turn it off.

Check engine light how do you turn it off

It is a computer issue. You need to take it to a shop and have the codes cleared! As far as I know that is the only way to get them to turn off on this car.

Check Engine light just came on steady

it could, to clear the check engine light, you or someone else can unhook the negitive battery termanal, wait about 2 minutes and unhook thev positve cable, wait a couple minutes and rehook positive cable then negitive cable. this should turn off light. if it comes back on, you'll need to have it diagnosed.
