Question about Cars & Trucks
I would suggest you have someone check the hood sensor. There is a sensor that tells the computer the hood is open much like when a door is not closed.
Anytime a sensor like that fails, the computer will think someone has cut the wires or otherwise disabled the sensor.

Try pushing down on the e brake further nad releasing it. Usually that's how to release them. Good luck, if that doen't back the car up and put full application to your service brake then try pushing down on your E brake again to relise them. Good luck and hope this helps

Almost always the key is not at fault. I know for sure heat changes the resistance of the key but it does not happen as a usual thing you would have to apply physical heat. Contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org

Sounds like a bad ignition switch have ur body
control module checked for codes if u have a B2960 and or B3033 then
replace the ignition switch.
If your vehicle has the remote keyless entry system, this feature allows you to select the method used to arm the vehicle's security system. When SECURITY appears on the display, press the reset button to scroll through the available settings:
* RKE (Remote Keyless Entry) (default): The content theft-deterrent system will arm when the lock button on the remote keyless entry transmitter is pressed or when the power door lock switch is pressed.
* PASSIVE: The content theft-deterrent system will arm itself 60 seconds after the ignition has been turned off and all of the doors have been closed.
Hopd this help (remember comment and rated this).
