SOURCE: GRINDING NOISE IN FRONT END

Sounds like wheel bearing or CV joint is shot at the best your brake pads are down to the metal

The car should be off the road as both sets of bearings can seize with dire consequenses and if it is your brakes !! need I say more

SOURCE: My 04 ford explorer is making a loud humming noise

SOURCE: humming noise coming from left front tire, just started two days!

If the tires are wearing normal then its not the ball joint. If it worse while turning one way and quieter turning the other way it a wheel bearing. A ball joint does'nt make a constant noise.

There is no way to estimate cost until you know the exact case of the noise. See the dealer for a test drive so a tech can listen to it.

The car makes a howling noise while driving it

well did the noise start after the tires were rotated?could be choppy tires,,,if not ,i strongly think it sounds like a bad wheel bearing,,,,if you drive and while its making the noise turn left and right quick and see if the noise gets louder and which way turning makes it louder,,if you turn leftand it gets louder its usually the right wheels bearing as you are putting load on it, if it makes the noise louder while turning right its the left wheel bearing,,,got it

Does the noise change pitch when you weave the steering wheel back and forth. Possible front wheel bearing.

Rumbling in front tires

You probably have a bad wheel bearing or bad tire on left front. when making right turn left front wheel wil spin faster than right making noise louder.

You must replace wheel bearings in pairs to avoid loading the old bearing and, in time ruining your new bearing hub it is possible that you have already damaged the new hub
