Question about 1998 Mitsubishi Galant
The speedometer stopped working. All the other gauges in the instrument cluster work. I also get warm air but it doesn't get hot. What is the problem? How do I fix it?
Well the speedo problem could well be behind the actual speedo gauge. Theres a long square shapped plastic piece on the end of the cable the fits in to the back of the gauge, as it turns it makes the hand on the dial read the speed, In most cases the plastic bit breaks away from the cable which will make the speedo read zero. You will have to get another speedo cable and replace it the same route as your original one.You have to take off the dash surround to get the gauge cluster out for a start to see if its broken at that end.
