Car display console suddenly stop working

Hi There,

I have a 2004 5 series BMW. My display console that operates my navigation system, radio and other functionalities with the car went dead. What could of cause my display console to just stop displaying. The car was involed in an accident where it was hit by the driver's side. After it came back from the repair shop, the console came and went and after a short while it stop displaying indefinitely.

Have you tried a battery reset? you do this by disconnecting the battery negative lead and leave it disconnected for approx 15 minutes. This will reset the navigation unit and it should then work.

There is a module that controls that called the CCC- Car Communication Computer. My guess is that was damaged from the accident. hav a dealer check to be sure. Module is VERY expensive, so may wanna think about going through insurance for this

My A/C in my BMW 2004 325I is not blowing cool air. What can I buy so it can start blowing cool air?

Have the system serviced a shop because you could have a leak in the system. If it just stopped all of a sudden then you probably have an electrical problem. Check all the fuses and relays, also check the pressure switches on the lines and make sure they are working properly. This particular car uses R134 freon. You can buy it at the local parts store and even walmart sells it.

Hello OT.

I'd suggest the first place to look would be your fuse box.

2003 BMW CI Convertable Radio/CD Problem

Had the same problem with my '03 330xi. Navigation worked fine but radio and CD did not work at all. I opened the fuse box located in the glove compartment to check the three fuses associated with the navigation system and radio. #7, #39, and #41. All three fuses were intact so I put them back in. I then put the key into the ignition, turned it to position 2 and miraculously the radio came to life. I guess it acted as some type of reset?
