SOURCE: 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe was driving down the highway

Not enough information.
Normally the first things one thinks of is clogged fuel filter, failed purge valve causing too much tank vacuum, water in the gas, or even PVC foam coating the air mass sensor.
But none of those things causes a gas smell.
I would then think of a leaking hose connection, bad plug wire, weak spark, etc.
However, we would need to see or smell where the gas odor was coming from?
A leak is extremely serious because it could cause a fire, but very easy to see and fix.
An ignition problem would be harder to see and would require looking for fouled plug that was not firing well.
So you need to open the hood and tell us more.

SOURCE: 2005 huyndia tuscon takes several times to

Sounds like you may have either dirt, sediment, water in the base of your fuel tank, I would have the gas analysed and if it is contaminated have the tank drained, the fuel filter replaced the lines flushed and the injectors serviced, hope this helps.

SOURCE: I have a 2007 Hyundai

to all those posting about tuscon clutch problems.... seems this is a common prob..! my tucson 55 plate cdx (38k miles) is curently in repair . 1. i started having problems finding 2nd gear, this occured for a few weeks. 2. then i lost most of tension in clutch pedal,.
I got a mate to fit a new master cylynder (1hour work), and that seemed to resolve the problem.... but only for several weeks....! eventually i was unable to find most gears on selection.... the dealership fitted a new slave cylynder today (3.5 hours work) but called me to inform me it still has not resolved the problem and they will now replace the complete clutch system (6.8 hours work) sadly my warranty has just expired...!!

SOURCE: i changed a timing belt on my 2006 hyundai tuscon and now the vehicle won't start

But it started and ran fine before this? If YES, then the answer's patently obvious eh? The belt was put on incorrectly, or more accurately, the timing has been set up wrongly. Sadly it seems you'll need to get someone to check the timing and get it reset properly. Best of luck!

Dodge caravan 2005 has gas smell when stopped

Where is the smell coming from? Under hood? Rear/front of vehicle? It could be a leaky fuel injector... bad gas cap.... leaky fuel line... leaky tank/tank seal... disconnected evap line..... leaky pressure regulator to name a few. Have a pro inspect the fuel system to avoid a dangerous situation

Multiple cylinder misfires cause engine to die out unless gas pedal is pressed. Will not idle

the fuel smell is from unburnt fuel in the cylinders not firing , i'd have to start with reading the OBD codes to help narrow down the component/s at fault but at a guess i'd think the ign coils are at fault but the OBD will pinpoint the issue

Used the wrong gas

Open the gas fill door, remove the gas cap and smell the gas fill tube area. If it has a kerosene like smell then you may have filled it with diesel fuel. If so select your favorite garage to drain the tank and flush the fuel system to remove the diesel.
This vehicle should run on any type of gasoline so I suspect the fluid you put in was not gasoline.

Where is the gas filter on a 2001 bug

The filter is located under the car near the fuel tank, on the passenger side just forward of the rear wheel. The filter is fairly large about the size of a drinking glass with the outlets marked as IN and OUT. You must first De-pressurize the fuel system by opening the gas cap and removing the electrical fuse [#28] for the fuel pump then crank the car for 3-5 seconds to insure that it does not start and that no gasoline is being pumped through the filter. The fuel lines are pressed on to the front and rear of the filter and secure with spring clamps. Having a spring clamp removal tool will save you much time and frustration. Unless you have a hydraulic lift to work under it is very tight working under the car in this area. Once you remove the clips the new filter can be put in place and reconnected. Reattach the fuel lines and clips securely. Replace the electrical fuse and then start the car, Check under the car to make certain that all clamps are secure and there are no leaks, You're done!

Truck wont start...remove gas cap and it starts...why?

Does it make a whooshing noise when it is being removed? The only thing that springs to mind is that your gas tank is plugged creating a vacuum in the tank starving the vehicle of fuel. Does the car stall when the cap is replaced?

Fuel smell by driver side rear wheel

Very possible. The code for the fuel cap is probably one of the codes for a pressure leak in the gas tank vent system.
If it was not smelling before the brake repair, I would take it back to the shop that did the work.

My 1991 grand marquis wont crank, it was running great on friday then sat morning it just spending i smell gas when im trying to crank it. i was thinking it as jump time

It may have jumped time. However, if you smell gasoline, it got flooded. Here is the lay of the land.
If it cranks, as in turning over but not starting. And you smell gasoline. The fuel is good, but there is not electrical spark going to the plugs. Bad coil. Cracked distributor cap. Moisture under the cap. Check this before you worry about the timing. You first have to test for ignition. Also don't pump the gas when starting it. See what happens. Also when the car is warm, never pump the gas. Also check the wire going from the distributor cap to the coil.
Good luck,
Hope this helps,

1998 GMC Sierra 2500 5.7L hard cold starts last month, now won't start cold w/o a little carb cleaner in intake. Codes for oxy sensors, mass air sensor and crank/cam position. Drove today, no power just...

starting definately has a lot to do with the crank/cam position sensors, but it wouldnt have nothing to do with hot or cold weather, oxygen sensor will make the vehicle run too rich if its out, you will smell fuel very strong out the exhaust, that could make it run sluggish also, and usually if the mass air flow sensor goes out the vehicle wont start at all...

1990 VW Cabriolet Gas Smell and humming from gas cap...The smell and sound happens more frequently on warm/hot days. Gas cap seal has been replaced, but still having problems.

The humming noise is coming from the fuel pump.  Its possible its getting ready to fail.  These start making noise when they are going bad.  The smell can be coming from bad gas cap not sealing up fuel tank properly and or a fuel pump/sending unit seal.  You can pull the back seat bottom out easy enough by removing 2 5mm alan screws that secure it to the floor.  Remove the seat bottom buy pulling out and remove black cover under seat bottom that has 3 philips screws.  you may smell fuel more promanently here.
