There should be some adjustment on it, if not replace it, it's about a $12 item.

That year Explorer was notorius for rear ABS sensors going bad. If your ABS light is on as well this may be your problem. Also they were notorious for 4WD modules going bad. This problem is more expensive. I would advise you to have it checked on a computer to see what codes you have.

SOURCE: cant find the fuse for my brake lights on my 2002 ford explorer

if the third brake light works you will probably need a brake on off switch. the fuse panels on that truck are under the dash near the steering column and under the hood in the power distribution box. both of these panels are identified in the owners manuel.

SOURCE: ford f150 2002 has no brake lights

yes there is. Above the brake pedal there is a switch tat turns the lights on when you press the pedal. It is tough to replace due to the lack o room to put your hands. but is an inexpensive part.

Probably a stuck or misaligned brake lite switch, or weak brake pedal return spring. Lift the brake pedal, if lights go off, check those two items.

I have 2002 Ford Explorer turn signals and emergency flashers work no break lights? Fuse or switch?

David I would check your brake switch. If you have volt meter you should get voltage on one side then push brake now should get voltage on both sides.

I have a 2002 ford explorer and sometimes its hard to shift to drive and the brake lights don't work unless I press really hard on the pedal.

*Hard to shift:
-Possible the shift cable need to be adjusted.
*Brake light is no working unless step(press really hard).
-Need to adjust the brake light switch. It's too closed or stuck.

My brakelights are both not working after changing the bulbs, changing brake pedal sensor, and checking all fuses. The running lights, parking lights, turn signals, hazard lights all work. Please give me...

Probably the blinker switch ..The brake light circuit runs through the blinker switch..Let somebody look and while you have the brakes applied move the switch around and see if the lights come on
