Question about 1999 Chevrolet Blazer

4WD lights all light up while driving

Driving down the road at times all the lights on the selector switch will light up and I can feel a hesitation like it's trying to shift into 4HI and RPMS will go up. Sitting at idle it works fine and I can shift into any gear. This happens no matter what I am in including 2HI. I have verified proper operation of the actuator and I have removed the selector switch while driving. Problem still occurred. Any ideas on what to check next?

SOURCE: My 98 chevy blazer won't shift into 4wd.

Most common problem is the vacuum diaphragm that is so inconviently mounted UNDER the battery tray. The cable that locks in the front diff is attached to it and vacuum pulls it in/out.

SOURCE: 95 chevy k3500 will not shift into 4hi

Hi ..i had the same same problem in my k3500,check 4x4 fuse first .if thats blown replace it if blows when you put in 4x4 go under the car and unplug the actuator at the front diff.go back in the cab and put another fuse in, shift into 4x4 if the fuse does not blow this time you will need a new actuator.
thats what happened with mine and now 4x4 is sweet.i thought mine worked to at the start until i got bogged and noticed my front wheels wernt turning.

SOURCE: 4.3L 4x4 - it shifts in and out of 4hi to 2hi and

If you check your owners manual you'll see the same thing I saw shift on the fly should only be used going into 4 wheel you need to stop or even back up to go back to two wheel drive. I woodn't shift on the fly unless I have to as both ways the faster your going the harder it's on the parts. The loud noise is something hitting to gether that should be avoided. Going straight ahead at walking speed pust the button to shift to 2 wheel and then stop and slowly dack up to unload the gears and it'll shift easy and it'll last as long as it's going to.

2004 isuzu rodeo check 4wd light

post a real question.?
is this just light bulb question, or 4wd is INOP or just what.
are you using 4wd, or driving in dirt. is car on dirt or pavement.
and
(the lamp does not turn on by self)

your car is PT (part time system)
so that means its only for iced roads or off road (dirt)
or it will do bad things....
first off if driving on dry pavement leave the 4wd off.
did you turn it on??????????????
ah, nice the rear axle is Lim. slip. axle. nice.
a true 3 wheel car, with 4th wheel if one dont slip up front.
great.

How do I release the tranfer box stick to two wheel drive in my suzuki sierra 4x4 It is stuck in 4 wheel drive

no year wow,. nor 4wd options stated.
in what country, and what model Sierra, since 1981.?
5 generations. many are part time 4wd, ever read who to use that?

if in part time 4wd, you need to be off dry pavement, do drive
gently to soft dirt ,grass /sand or gravel and shift out out of part time.

is it just he light stuck on, or is it really in 4wd, driving on ice?
what?

4wd light flashes

driving on what./
this is Part time 4wd, its not for dry pavement.
its only for ice on road, or dirt.
period.
so drive to DIRT (grass or sand or gravel) and try 4wd
this is the only test you can do , if not in Siberia.

I have a 20008 vitara and while driving the 4L and 4H lock lights come on for a few seconds and then go, usually when the suv requires power. the error code on the scanner is C1213 (transfer switch c

is this the full time or part time option.?
we cant guess that.
do you have AWD
as seen here
http://www.fixkick.com/tranny/xfr-case/4wd%20windup/suzuki-grand-vitara-4mode-4wd-selector-switch.jpg

if you drive with the center differential in lock , do not do that
its not for pavement.
did you read your glove box operator guide yet? get one.
or look here
here is a cheat sheet print it out and glove box it .

Suzuki grand vitara 2003 4wd light keeps coming on and off while driving in 2wd and makes clunking noise

ok its not fibbing, the 4wd is engaging while it should not.

the answer is in the book. the FSM
and at alldata dot com.
as a rule with suz, cars, is that early years.
the light is before the fact and later years after the fact.
but dont matter here, due to its in 4wd.
and will windup on pavement (are you on that or dirt.?)
do not drive a car with stuck 4wd (part time 4wd is not AWD)
its a danger to you and all others on the road.

On my GV. it works like this, and 04, , I have all the books on muy car, so i can DIY . at any time.
fixing cars is complex an wiring blind is dangerous to you and the drive line.

volume1 chapter 3B3.
the ECU sees 4wd and glows the light .
the ECU gets this fact from the 4wd small air pump.
this year, uses a front axle module
this model is an air pump
this #2 module has and air presure switch
so bingo lamp on means the air pump is running. (maybe)

so either that air switch is fibbing, its not you feel 4wd engaged.
or the 4wd command switch is stuck closed. bingo.
this switch closes (or breaks) and tells ECU to engage
4wd, the ECU then starts the air pump then the pump runs
and the air pressure acutaly (vac actuators) move the front
axle to 4wd axle lock mode.

that is the whole deal.
a volt meter at the switch, teminal to ground read
black-org wire
12v ,not 4wd.
0v , engage 4wd, (move the lever key on, and see it toggle.
0v, 12v, 0v ,12v, the sure sign of a good switch.

Four wheel wont disengage. had switch for 4x4 set to 2wd and the light switched to 4wd while driving down the road and the four wheel drive engaged. Tried to switch from 2wd to 4wd and back but didnt...

if it is a turn knob that puts it in 4x4.then a wire under the truck is touching the exhaust pipe making it do this. I had this happen to mine. It will be 2 wires so they more and likely came loose.

How do you use 4WD on a 1999 dodge durango?

there are 2 systems.
one is a part time system only.the 4x4 locks and is for ice mud and snow.Driving full time will damage the transfer case. The other system is a full time system and the selector says 2wd,4wd part time ,4wd full time and 4 lo. if in full time,it can be driven all the time even on dry roads. The full time is really an all wheel drive system.
the 4low is a very low gear and the main shifter has to be put in neutral and then the transfer case put in 4 low.attempting to put it in 4 low while in "drive" will make a gear grinding noise.
getting out of 4 low is the opposite.shifter to neutral and then put it in 2wd and then in drive. The newer durango has an electronic transfer case with a dial on the dash. The 2002 was available with 2wd,4wd,awd and 4 lo on a switch. The 1999 has the lever on the floor .
