Question about 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Ok i just bought a 1996 grand cherokee limited from the auction, but the problem is i got only one key is that was to the ignition & not to unlock the door,so with that being said i lock all my doors beside the pasenger door & i had hit the passenger door to unlock all my doors & when i did that & open the passenger front door it trigered the alarm & with that being said it want crank up because i guess the low jack on the vechical is cutting the gas off from getting to the motor,so i wanted to know if there was any way i can bypass/reset the alarm without having the keyless entry.....

SOURCE: had to buy keyless entry
I just bought one for mine too! The guy who sold it to me gave me these directions but I haven't tried them yet! Am going to on my lunch hour! Hope they work for us both :)
Forgot to put prog. instructions.in with your fob so here they are.
1.Find the ETACS unit under the steering wheel first, there is a small switch onit.
2.Once the switch is located make sure your key is not in the ignition and set the switch from off to set.
3.Press keyfobs door lock button for one second, this sends the codes to the ETACS and stores it.
4.Do the same thing if you have 2 remotes for the vehile.
5.Now set the ETACS switch from set to off.
6.Remotes should now be programed.

The alarm might have a relay to kill the ignition. Disconnect the negative or ground from the battery, wait five minutes then connect it again. This is to try and restart the alarm. Then lock and unlock the car to get the remote in sync. Try and operate your vehicle now and let me know.
