This is serious current flow and way way over what should be flowing in the circuit. You have a dead short somewhere which is likely to be beneath the dash panel. possibly the printed circuit board behind the instrument cluster. There may be something else sharing the fuse too which has the problem and not in the fuel gauge at all.

You have a short to ground somewhere in your system. This will be a matter of tracing wires and will require a wiring diagram. This is tedious work and can be very frustrating but also very rewarding when you find it.

My 30 amp fuse to my electric fan is blown in my 1998 isuzu rodeo, will that keep it from starting

1st You should replace the fuse.
If you mean your engine cooling fan, then don't drive it untal it's fixed. It can keep the car from starting as a safety procedure so you don't overheat and blow your engine.

If you mean your A/C-Heater blower fan you can start and drive a car with this fuse blown
Hope this helps mike

HVAC BLWR . HVAC = heater ventilation an air conditioning ! So Tom what problem are you having ? Heater fan not working ? There is also a blower motor control module involved !

Heater fan not working - 30 amp HVAC fuse blows out repeatedly when replaced. Where should I look for root cause? Have dash disassembled, but can't see any bare wires anywhere behind radio/climate...

Try unplugging the blower motor, heater control unit and blower motor resistor. Replace the fuse then reconnect the items 1 by 1 and see what pops the fuse.

My bmw 318 is blower fan not working

Blown Fuse
  • Usually the first thing to inspect when the blower fan stops working is the fuses to see if any are blown. Locate the 10A cluster fuse or the 25A HVAC fuse in your car manual, and examine them to determine if they need replacing. The car owner's manual will tell you where to find the fuses that are connected to the heat and/or air conditioning. On the interior fuse panel of the car, a 30 amp fuse is labeled "Heater" or "HVAC."

Bad Blower MotorIf the fan only works on setting number 3 or 4, or just on the highest setting, it is most likely that your blower motor is failing and is about to die. Use a voltmeter to test the amount of voltage at the blower motor connector with your ignition on and AC running. If it reads 12V, the motor needs replacing.Automatic Climate Control SystemAnother thing that causes the blower fan to malfunction is the Automatic Climate Control System (ACCS). If the ACCS's settings are off, it may cause the fan to stop working. If it is the climate control on the car, typically it is a bad thermostat or electrical circuit that is the culprit.
hope this helps, James Booth

Eletric fan wont work

The fuse must be in the main fuse box. The position and function of the fuses is normally marked on the inside of the fuse box cover and also in the owner's handbook. If you don't come right with these, work your way through the fuses looking for a blown one. To ease your search the fan fuse it should be around 25 to 30 amps.

Have you checked the fuse first.

If you don't come right with these, work your way through the fuses looking for a blown one. To ease your search the fan fuse it should be around 25 to 30 amps.

The blower is not in the engine bay proper. It is below the air inlet grille under the windscreen, Access may be through the heater/ventilator unit in front of the console.
