SOURCE: just bought the 1988 Toyota pickup and don't know

If it's a 4 cylinder it's a 2.4 liter. If it's a 6 cylinder it's a 3.0 liter. The 2.4 liter engine comes with a carb, Fuel injection or even a turbo. Either way the 2.4 and the 3.0 take the same oil filter. The bosch is # 3330. I hope this helped and good luck.

What should the compression level be for a 1998 toyota camry?

compression should be about 150-180 psi with maximum deviation of about 20 psi between all cylinders. A compression test is not a very reliable way to test for headgasket leaks. It should be tested for headgasket leaks by using a chemical test caled a block test or checked with a device that can check for hydrocarbons in the coolant.

Car overheated stalled hasnt started since what could have happened my toyota pickup 22re engine

If it overheated and stalled and now it does not start. You probably blew the headgasket and hydrolocked the engine. Question does it crank over? If so that is a good sign. If not Bad sign.

Black smoke coming out of the exhaust of my toyota 7k engine

It is running rich, too much gas possibly plugged air filter or PCV issue. May just need a tune-up. Blue smoke would be oil burning and White could mean headgasket or worse....

91 toyota 4x4 22re overheats on highway, but not at idle.

original issue sounded like thermostat but now that you have lost power i would have to say thermostat, blown head gasket, and warped head

to check thermostat find and remove place in pot of boiling water the see if it opens, then to ice water to check if closes.

the only way i know to check headgasket and head is to check oil and water. oil will have water in it, and water iw have oil in it
