Car was parked about 2 years put it on the road fixed minor problems then drove it for one week and it cracked and melted the center coil pack, bought one put it on and ran fine but within less than ten miles cracked and melted the center coil pack again??? Have to replace all three cause there made together and can't afford to buy another to burn up, so can anyone help me out I know little about car electrics and nothing about electronic repairs. SOURCE: have a 1991 buick lesabre 3800 v6, cant get to

Check the ECM if it has the number 1228253 on it, this is what is wrong with it. Gm trashed all of these bad ecms. Get a 16198264 as they do not cause a cutting off problem . Get a delco ecm , aftermarket units will give trouble and may be a rebuilt 1228253 which is junk.

SOURCE: 1998 Buick Lesabre How do you test the coil packs?

the coils are one integrated block with 3 separate segments. the coil pack is mounted to the ignition module and can be unbolted from each other. one can test the coils from the underside of the coilpack with a dvom. having said that your car should still start if one paired coil fails, it would however miss on one or two cylinders. I would suggest to scan for codes, monitor live sensor data to see if you have a valid crank signal, check fuel pressure and spark voltage

SOURCE: 1995 Buick Lesabre: security blinks and car will not start

If the starter is turning the engine, try re-setting the security system (leave key on till light stops blinking.) If the starter does not turn, you may have some success in re-setting system, if not you need to check battery voltage and voltages in starter system till you find the problem...can be something as simple as a bad connection at the battery. If you need help with further testing, just ask.

What years are parts compatable with 89 lesabre

The '89 is within the sixth generation of LeSabres, covering years from 1986 to 1991 models. So check for those years, also buick century, regal, and park avenue just might have the same mirrors.

I have a1997 buick 3.8 car run like **** code reader said missfire on on more then 1 cylinder went to start again and wont crank like it has to much comp batt and starter good

If it is a p0300 code I would look first at the coil(s). My 2002 has 3 coils (2 cylinders per coil). I just went through this problem with my 2002 with the 3.8 engine. I bought one coil and tested it in each spot. No change. Underneath the coils is the ignition control module. That was my problem and I suspect yours. It costs about $140. It is pretty easy to replace if you are a DIY person.

Firing order buick 3800 .if plug wires crossed up /how do i fix

I belive the coil pack on this is numbered 1-6. On the motor, front of car from passanger to driver side is 1-3-5 on rear near firewall from passanger to driver side is 2-4-6. Find coil pack and trace wires to each cylinder, if numbers match all is goo.

Timing chains on 3800 engines do not go bad. The older 3.8 1987 back did. You need to put a crank sensor on it first also check the ign. module under coil pack for green gel that may be coming out of it. Clean the all three battery cables and replace the two bolts too. My 1990 lesabre 3800 has 295000 miles on its timing chain.

Has no fire going 2 the plugs

My Bonneville 3800 did the same thing. My brother-in-law (mechanic) told me to change the coil pack module (3 coils sit on top of it). I got a module from a wrecked 3800, put it in, engine runs beautifully!
