Coolant problem (leaking somewhere)

I am leaking coolant but dont know where maybe intake gasket need help

We had a 1997 Suburban (157,000 miles) do the same thing. I noticed a slow leak. We had to put water/antifreeze in it once every two weeks.

We took it into today and they said it first it was the water pump. Then after further review, they found that the intake gasket blew a hole in the intake manifold.

Cost of repair was $467. They said that the Dexcool fluid that is recommended for GMC vehicles, eats away at the gasket slowly. I didn't know this.

If this is a 4.8, 5.3 or 6.0 liter they are notorious for water pumps. The 4.3, 5.0, or 5.7 liter are known for intake gaskets. Both leak slowly at first and evaprate from engine heat quickly.

Why does my car overheat for a month straight but coolant in it then doesntfor 2 months thjen does again

you have a coolant leak somewhere ! check the intake manifold gaskets for leaking, the water pump maybe leaking out of relief hole on bottom of pump. make sure the coolant recovery tank is not leaking. look very carefully and you will find it.

I have a 96 grand am and it started leaking coolant from somewhere around the manifold, i can't tell exactly where it's coming from. Does anyone know it that could be the termostat?

If its a v6 engine and the leak is by the intake manifold, then you need to replace the intake manifold gasket. This is a very, very common problem on all of GM's v6 engines. It will cost you about $350-$400 for this repair.

I have a 2001 Oldsmobile Intrigue that has a small coolant leak. It appears to be leaking somewhere under the motor on the drivers side of the vehicle. I ran it up yesterday and the fans seem to cycle...

Could be intake gaskets, Use a rad. cap/rad. pressure tester, dont pressurize system higher than the rad cap is rated for(psi). You might find the leak that way.

Hey Chevy Minivan heater dont work properly

Chevy made some weak intake gaskets on 3.1 and 3.4. My guess is that the intake gasket is weak and/or leaking and it is letting pressure out somewhere. At idle maybe the system pressure is to little to push hot coolant into the heater core.
